Hey all, I have a few questions that I’ve been unable to answer by reading guides. 1) When attempting to HP wash from scratch, should you start with int even before choosing your first job, or race to the needed qualifications and then go int from there? Do those early levels even matter? 2) Should you move mp to hp every level, or stockpile ap until you hit the mp you want and then haul it over to hp? 3) How much int in equips is necessary?
Without going tooooooo specific with all the hp washing info and steps: 1. If you want to min max as much as possible, then technically int first and then meeting the job advancement requirements is better. However, the difference is pretty negligible at around maybe 1 APR worth of difference. 2. Thief is the only class that would want and consider the fresh AP. Every other class (even mages, though they have an extra step) wants to -mp and then +hp, which only requires 1 fresh AP to start. From what I can think of, stock piling AP doesn't really do anything good for you. Unless you're considering MP washing or are a Thief (ideally with a well thought out plan), I wouldn't think about saving AP at all. 3. There's too many factors to consider for a definitive number, but you want as much int in equips as early as possible generally. Int gear only helps gain more mp when leveling up and there's only so many times you can level up. The special cases for thief or mage washing as well as MP washing are better explained in the other guides, so probably better to refer to those for that. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/hp-washing-for-dummies.224894/ is the one I look at all the time that also has the numbers. If you want to ever sit down and math it, then the info is there. There's also the HP Quest in Ellinia, Reuls, and Olafs to consider that give extra HP. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/zancks‘-how-to-play-unwashed-guide-is-hp-washing-optional-in-2024.227532/ is one I referenced when I started playing the server. These are also things to consider since they can possibly change or alleviate your plans while hp washing a character.
hello thank you for the timely and detailed reply. I am still unclear about something, apologies. Assuming I’m making a thief. Are you saying level 1->2, I should put 5 ap into int, and upon level up immediately wash the mp into hp? Not save up the mp and wash later? I’m confused how thief is different. I’d assume all hp wash is -mp and +hp, right? What’s the difference?
This has all the information you need, and I'll probably be just repeating it but I can also try to explain it here. It's probably easier to understand with an example scenario: Let's say you have an Archer with 1200 extra mp For Archers, it is -12 mp for +18-20 hp To HP wash this Archer, you would do something like 1. Use 1 AP to +18-20hp 2. Use an 1 APR to -12mp, +18-20HP 3. Repeat step 2 until you have 12 extra mp left 4. Use 1 last APR to -12mp and then +dex As you can see with this, you converted all your extra MP into HP and it only took 1 AP to do while using 100 APRs. You could do this first method with a Thief, but it would lose you some hp because this method for thief is -12mp, +18 to +20hp The fresh AP method for some reason gives +22-24hp (Why? No one really knows) If you want to be more efficient with Thief using the fresh AP method, you have to do the following: Let's say you have a Thief with 1200 extra mp To HP wash this Thief, you would do something like 1. Level up and get 5 AP 2. Use 1 AP to +22-24hp 3. Use 1 APR to -12mp, +1 luk (or whatever stat you need) 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 5 times because you have 5 AP If you did the first method above 5 times with a thief, you would get 90 - 100 HP while the second, fresh AP method would get you 110 - 120 HP The issue? The first method you can do all at once and whenever you want while the second method you have to use fresh ap, which means you can only do this when leveling up and having the fresh AP. In the example, this would mean you are left with 1140 extra mp left that still needs to be converted because you were only able to do it 5 times. To convert the rest, you need to level up more and keep repeating. For other classes, you can afford to save up the mp because of the first method. For thief, it's potentially detrimental because of the fresh AP method. This is why it's harder to gauge stockpiling AP because on one hand, the more you stock pile, the more you can use the fresh AP method for a thief. On the other hand, the more you stock pile, the less AP you have actually being used, whether it is less AP into int that would be helping you get more mp or less AP in your stats to help with damage. And remember, the fresh AP is limited because there's only so many times you can level up. If you save too much MP and don't have enough fresh AP left, then you are forced to use the first method to wash the rest of it out, which is less effective for thief. ex. You are lvl 200 with 0 fresh ap, but you have 1000 extra mp. You have to use the inefficient method to wash the rest of it out. This isn't even considering mp washing, which is even more work to figure out that also uses fresh AP. That's why when hp washing a character AS OPTIMALLY AS POSSIBLE and ESPECIALLY for a thief, it is best to use calculators and plan out the process. There's too many steps and factors to consider. It's honestly an option to just not think too hard about it and follow a general ballpark int number (most people recommend upwards around 250 base int or so I think) while doing as many Olafs, Reuls, and HP related quests as you can instead.
