Hello, I'm having trouble on the server and it feels like I'm just missing something obvious. I started a fresh account and thought a dexless sin sounded fun. I tried to follow guides for it but 30 levels in logic set in and I realized that was probably a hard way to dip my feet into this experience and tbh, I felt very weak. Had it not been for the charity of some random people (this community is very nice, I love it) my sin would have been tedious to play. So I decided to make a DK because I thought warriors are pretty straightforward. Looking at the guides section I decided to follow Donn1e's guide. In this he doesn't recommend adding any dex. By the time I was 15 I had trouble hitting green mushrooms, so I followed the next piece of advice to get to 23 dex and call it good there. Well now my DK is level 23 and I can't reliably train on Wild Boars.... So I feel like I'm missing something here. Is there a quest, or vendor that I'm missing here? Should I just make a bishop and take it easy until I know what I'm doing? Any help is appreciated. tl;dr: It feels like every guide is pushing me towards these aggressive playstyles but I just don't have the resources to keep up and it seems like I'm missing something obvious.
you can just add dex and APR it later. as someone who has a drk (lv 159), that is the best way to go. you'll get enough dex later so you can just APR it later on.
You can buy acc pots and scroll your gear with dex/acc if you are missing a lot. Or fight weaker mobs instead. Visit NLC, best pot-npc is there. Buy 200 each that'll carry you for a very long while. Also if you need more dex. Do more dex. It is completely fine to move away a bit from the guides if it suits you. Since base stats are capped at 999 you are always left with 23 secondary base stats. I guess thats why they are recommending 23 dex. Once you reach like level 180-200 (or whatever) a dk does not need accuracy from dex to hit mobs. I have had 60+ base dex until level 180 or something on my dk. When I started out on my NL it was the easiest and most fun early leveling I have experienced. Check out the guide "Quests worth doing 2.0" It took me 10 days to hit lvl 80 with doing random quests and not even following this guide. Haste and Flash Jump are arguably one of the better skills for questing. Until lvl 90-100 dexless sins are generally much better than regular sins. Are you using atk pots? (Warrior elixir) Did you use 7x claw 100/60 on your gear? Go to Showa, buy a bathrobe and throw 10x overall LUK 60 on it for some more damage. Steelies or lower stars are easy to obtain on lower levels. Check out drop table website (link on guides on forum). Anyway, pre 3rth job all classes are weak but leveling is supposed to be very easy. Go do the quests listed by quests worth doing 2.0 guide and you'll hit 3rth job next week.
what you can do for your accuracy problems is to try to get your hands on amorian baskets, they give you 40 accuracy and lasts for 10 minutes and are cheap ( i think ), just hustle abit in the Free market . If your completely broke, you can sell your nx for mesos in the free market to help you get some startup mesos to ease your journey. You can also get your hands on a fish spear (level 20 spear), they give a bit of accuracy (5?), they can be bought from the NPC Shinta at showa town. When you reach level 35, swap the fish spear to a maple sword for a decent accuracy boost (the weapon comes with 20+ accuracy). People usually give these away so you can probably get them for cheap in the free market. When you reach level 43, swap the maple sword for a maple impaler for a massive accuracy boost (30+ accuracy), you can hunt them yourself from wild boar or toy trojan or you can purchase them from FM. Same as maple sword, people give them out too. Also as mentioned above, use attack pots along with accuracy pots (amorian baskets) if you are looking to mob to train your character. Once you hit level 30/31 (i cant rmb), you can do CPQ for an easier time leveling. Warriors generally do very well at CPQ. You can rely on CPQ all the way til level 70.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll take that into account. The amorian baskets are a lifesaver and I'll just do what I need to for dex. Some people sold me a few cheap maple weps too so I should be ok. As for the sin thing, I'll hold off on that for now. I'm enjoying a more simple approach.
So thats why you've not been on! Had a blast running those PQ's with you - drop me a line when your on! (xOriginality - we linked up at Henesys!)
Hey!!! I sent you a friend request on my now 3rd character (I may have a problem) haha. let's do some cpq or something soon!
Mage is best for 1st char imo. No need to worry about accuracy and even at lukless u can do decent damage. Cleric easy to train as well. When u get to coolies ~50 u can make decent meso by selling lost tooth and npcing (even if u use regular teleport rock 1.5m u still net profit 5-6m per npc run). My first char was a bishop and I never felt too under funded even as a 1st char
