Can I get a clarification or a double check? I vaguely remember 2~ish week period when I was still starting out where I double voted on my bishop because I was asking someone on how they were gaching on multiple characters, and they told me that I could vote on my other char. Once I realized that wasn't allowed, I stopped doing that and have single voted according to the rules since then.

I should have definitely self reported that, so that's on me, but I didn't realize that qualified as major vote abuse.

Would you mind clarifying a bit further for me? I'm pretty confused as I'm certain the double voting occured on my bishop for 2-3, maybe 4 weeks tops? I can confidently assure you that I was not double voting for 5 months. The only time I voted on other characters on my accounts were to get enough NX for a hired merchant, but I carefully made sure this was a single vote when that happened.

Over the past week or so, I've been doing a lot of mental backtracking to try and figure out what might be causing the system to read 5 months of vote abuse on the staff's end, and I think I have an idea.

I'm not exactly sure how admin logs work, but would it be possible that my brother visiting me during the latter months of 2023 and a bit during January be the case? He lives on the west coast, and I live on the east coast. We both created accounts in July and August of 2023 - I can't specifically remember when he created his. I wanted him to play with me as a sort of return to our nostalgia from 2008 GMS, after discovering how alive and full of life Royals was.

He has a lvl 50-ish (?) brawler I believe, but stopped playing actively relatively quick compared to me. I still encouraged him to vote when he could, just in case he wanted to come back and have some funds to progress with. I guess I still held on to that small dream of two brothers playing old-school maple again many years later, even if we weren't living together any more.

During the holidays months of 2023 (thanksgiving, christmas, new years), he visited me for a while on the east coast and although he didn't really play at my place, I still encouraged him to vote as I was playing actively and would remind him when the server reset. Because he created his account and played on the west coast, it didn't occur to me at the time to apply to the household whitelist feature that is required of players who play under the same household. In my mind, he was just visiting from the west coast, and I thought that the admin logs could reflect that separately from my voting, which was lazy of me. I guess I assumed that the system could verify that we were both playing on our own accounts from across coasts at the same time, if needed. In hindsight, I should have at least inquired about the whitelist process in order to make things super clear with the admin team, and I apologize for that negligence by not being proactive. It's frustrating when the staff provides guides to us players for how to do things to avoid confusion and they aren't followed to the fullest, and I'm really sorry I didn't look into that deeper.

I also traveled to the west coast during those holiday months, for personal and family reasons. During a lot of those months, I was with my brother on multiple occasions (it's the time of the year to we finally spend time together) and we voted together on our separate accounts. I believe in mid december and early january, my brother logged on twice at my place on the east coast, but only to gach, as we thought it could be fun to do it together. He didn't really play at the time still, so he told me I could keep the 30/70 scrolls for myself, but sell his CS to set aside for him as his funds when he eventually wanted to return (I have screenshots of this, if desired).

I don't know if he still plays or votes these days, but I'm sure he'd also be happy to verify anything or provide material for clarification for the staff from his end on the west coast.

Again, I really appreciate the time the staff takes to look into things like this. I know admin resources are limited and it's not easy to have to deal with so many players and so many cases every day. It takes a lot more effort and mental gymnastics than most people realize. I also do want to sincerely apologize again for both the window of double voting I did on my bishop as well as the negligence I exhibited towards the household whitelist process during the time my brother and I were together. I should have been more vigilant in reading and following the rules to T - whether it was immediately self reporting my double voting for those weeks and not voting afterwards, or asking the staff about our what we should do if my brother and I were both voting from the same place for a while. A lack of proactiveness still has consequences, which I would more than gladly serve in the way that reconciles this the best.

I know that you all have a lot of appeals to look through, so please take your time.

Yes, he told me that the 30/70 scrolls and random NX I could keep, but CS I could hold/sell for him and retain that liquidity for him if he ever decided to return. When the transfer(s) happened, he was with me in person on the east coast, logged into his accounts on my second laptop. I still have that money set aside in b coin/cs if he ever does decide to return, although he is quite busy these days and doesn't play.

 

Yes, I mentioned in my earlier responses in this appeal that I did do some unintentional minor double voting on my bishop back when I had first started playing, this was on Yoshee and ImCar (my bishop).

To reiterate, a long time ago I saw some very similar IGN's gaching at the same time, so I spoke with that player who was gaching and asked him how he was gaching on multiple players, and he told me that if I made another character to play with, you could vote on that one too. Being the new player I was, I made the mistake and listened to him, voted on my bishop without doing my due diligence on reading the forum rules to clarify that this was in fact not allowed. I double voted on my bishop and my main for a few weeks, but realized after speaking with some friends that this was totally against the rules, and I stopped.

Again, I apologize for that mishap, that's on me and I should have reported the double votes immediately to the GM's and asked for how to go from there instead of just stopping the double vote on my bishop and playing like nothing happened. I realize that it's important to notify the GM's immediately of any rule-breaking (especially on my part) but I do not believe the period of double voting on ImCar would qualify as major vote abuse.
