...what would it be? I know that most of you here have a bit of hate boner/crusade on current Maplestory, be it the game is not the same as the ye golden olden days of Maplestory, the game now focuses on solo contents only (which is partially correct) or the game is too easy now (which is kinda wrong), but let us not dismiss the good things that comes out from newer updates and all, such us contents, events, quality of life stuffs and what not. So, what kind of good content/QoL changes/any good thing that current Maplestory has that can be added to Royals if you have the power to do so?
If I have the ability to add anything from current version of Maplestory to Royals, that would be... Spoiler: User Interface The equipment inventory is one good example of the new UI, compare it to the pre-BB ones : Say, if I wanted to take an equipment out, I would've have to unequip my NXs first and then I can unequip the things I wanted to, it's not really a hassle but this issue is handled so much better in current Maple. Equipment inventory is now separated into their own category, so if you want to take out only equipment, you just take out equipment item instead of taking out NX item then taking out equipment item. The pet option such as pet loot can be disabled by just ticking the chechbox, which is way more convenient than having to take out the pouches manually. The addition of Decoration tab on Item Inventory window is also a good addition, where only NX items are placed here, meaning that it no longer shares inventory space on the Equipment section, giving you more slots for more trash. World Map UI is also greatly improved, with the added Search Bar so you can look up for specific NPCs/monsters for their location and what not, plus the ability to register navigation so you can find the direction to the map is also a neat thing. Chat window is also improved greatly, allowing you to filter out chats by category such as Buddy/Guild/Alliance/Party chat only (for some reason, smega shows up on the separate category too, I don't know why) And oh, you can also separate the chat window into it's own external chat window, which is actually a brilliant addition. Probably a better storage menu too would be nice. Spoiler: Ability to save faces and hairs The community here been requesting this to be implemented in Royals too, unfortunately we really can't add new menu due to client limitation but still. Spoiler: More minigames It's kinda boring to see Omok and Matching Card only to be honest, and it's kinda sad that some of these minigames only appears in seasonal events only but a private server can always open them up forever and that would be fun and games. Spoiler: Item Bags This can alleviate storage issue that has been going on around I don't know what else too add but there is lot more things that I think is good if they were possible to be added and what not, so yeeee --- I heard that KMS players want Nexon to revert back to 32-bit because the 64-bit client had tons of issues and it gives them even worser performance for whatever reason But at least Nexon is working hard on patching it over and over again so, other region might be getting a stable one someday
I'm a firm believer that MapleStory is, or could've been, a fantastic game post BB. But the pay2win, the non-ending release of new classes, and the content bloat just kills it. There was a nice golden age in my opinion, somewhere around the cygnus class rework or around where Magnus was end game? Maybe I'm just nostalgic for Extalia. Okay but, you can't mention Ardentmill without mentioning the BGM. Makes me so happy. Kinda reminds me of Leafre, but also Pokemon weirdly. Used to set up my reactor or whatever for people to use haha. Also lots of memories trying to craft half earrings in hopes for an Epic or Unique potential, given that I wasn't buying cubes . One thing I really liked were the reworked versions of the Cygnus classes. Some people complained that they were just reskinned adventurers, but after the rework that was clearly not the case. They were super fun and had super cool skills and aspects. Thunder Breaker was hella fun. I could probably go on for too long about what I liked about new maple. It's a shame that people don't like progressive Post BB servers, but I guess it's just a niche at the end of the day.
Idk if it’s still in current maplestory or not as I never really played much post Big Bang and not a single second post chaos update but I liked the family system.
Would love to see the fusion anvil so my DK can have the look of a fairfrozen while using my maple soul spear
absolutely. I'd love to see a gross jaeger on my hands instead of a dragon shiner crossbow that covers all of my face and fashion... or a dragon's tail dagger instead of a kanzir!!
Oh god, i think im one of the few ppl who do not hate BB per se, i just hated how they did it, mainly the power scales, looks like those animes where you unnecesary buff everything to the point it doesnt even make any sense... aside that i would really love to see many things of post BB maplestory(cannot talk about current MS bcs i havent played till 2015-2016) New equips like shoulders, badges, pocket items, etc. Mini games, systems, but mainly...what gives me the biggest nostalgic feeling about Post BB MS is Commerci all day long.... God i love this area.....
I really like how you upgrade your equipment in Reboot. For those who haven't messed around with it: You use mesos instead of scrolls to attempt an upgrade. The cost of attempting the upgrade and the chance that it will fail get higher as the item gets better The number of times you can upgrade an item depends on how good the item is (e.g. early game items can be upgraded 5 times, end game items can be upgraded 25 times) Subsequent upgrades give you better bonuses. For example, your first few upgrades might only give you 1 weapon attack, but your 10th upgrade might give you 5 If you fail an upgrade, you don't lose upgrade slots! If the item hasn't been upgraded much, you just lose the mesos you spent attempting the upgrade. If it's been upgraded a bit more, it might lose one or two upgrades. If it's been upgraded a lot (e.g. 20+ times) there's a chance that the item will break if it fails There are checkpoints along the way so that you don't have to worry about rolling back a good item too far Farming for scrolls (especially niche ones) can get pretty annoying, so condensing the item upgrade process down to one currency was really nice for a change. Super strong gear is still extremely difficult to get this way, but at least it feels attainable!
The upgrade system does sound like a good meso sink to me, but I really have no idea how will it actually affect Royals if these were to be implemented (provided its possible). But people do like Reboot so much, so...
I think it'd push the game more toward a solitary experience, which probably wouldn't be great for people who enjoy the social aspects of Royals. That said, it would definitely be a great way to deal with inflation, and it would make the server a lot less intimidating for new players!
Scissors of Karma 100%. I think players would pay any amount of NX for this item, effectively creating a whole new NX sink and potential rise in totally amount of daily votes
Scissors of Karma would destroy so many parts of the current economy and game progression (untradables - VIP Zak, MoN, Krex, etc.). In regards to people voting for NX, more than likely it’d lead to more vote abuse. I would say hard no for SoK.
bringing SoK in will most likely pull down all kind of vip services (which are of course provided by teams that are arranged by higher level players and something very sought after, not only for the items but often the experience of it too). keep in mind these —services— are an actual pivotal part of the current economy besides leech and HP washing. it's a goal, and enticing feature for most characters. making a zhelm/egg'd HTP/MoN/circlet/black belt/etc... tradeable will pretty much screw part of the economy (mesos-wise), and will let people acquire items they should normally get levels and pre-required quests for; for just more money. as @Kethoe said above, it's a no for me too, but interesting input nonetheless!
