Repositioning at bosses can be quite annoying when running on a Bowmaster (I'm assuming for Marksmen as well). Archers already have a 1st job skill called focus that improves accuracy and avoid by 20. When you get higher level, 20 is not a very large amount. What if 4th job had a new improved focus skill that would then make focus give 50-100 avoid instead of just 20? This would help archers in terms of positioning just slightly when bossing and be less just there for se mule, but not give a huge advantage. While still being no where near thieves avoidability since that is a part of their class description. It would also give something for 4th job archers to put more points into instead of some of the other skills that just get pts put into because nothing else to do.
I suggested giving 1st job focus a flat buff (from whatever level you have it), after each job advancement. So like +15 at second, 3rd, then 4th, an extra 45, or whatever the determined amount would be, once in 4th. This way it doesn't have to be a new skill, it scales, and still has some relevance as you progress. Also an avoid buff could be packed into marksman boost, and concentrate. BUT if blind worked on bosses (at a reduced rate, like 1/3), that would help MM a lot. Its not a mule-able skill as is, and it could easily be modded to prevent muling if people try.
Im a bowmaster and I agree with this idea. But I would also like to hear feedback and thoughts from other people playing other classes as well as any GMs/Staff who might be against this change. I feel archers are very lacklustre as they are now compared to other classes. How long are people going to use the argument that Archers are too advanced in utility with the "Sharp eyes argument" when other classes have both utility and dps. Plus they even benefit from our se while we dont benefit as much from other classes' utility like speed infusion or haste. I would love to hear the thoughts of others and hopefully be proven wrong on my points. This way even if this change doesnt get implemented, i'd have gained some insight.
I'm a bowmaster and I suggest turning Focus into a party skill. Since Accuracy is one of the best attributes of an archer, Dexless classes (which means lower Accuracy) like Warriors and Thieves would greatly appreciate it. And if you do the proper SP repartition, you can Max Focus before or almost reaching at level 70. +20 at Max Level is still pretty low imo, it would be nice to have a buff. Critical Shot could be actually be buffed too as NLs have a better/major damaging critical shot. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but Concentrate is a dispellable skill right? That is another major problem because that skill has term between uses and it feels pretty underwhelming when you simply get dispelled. I also suggest turning Concentrate into a persistent, non-dispellable skill (just like they do in Maplelegends). Again I don't even have Concentrate yet but afaik MS royals concentrate can be dispelled and that sucks pretty bad for us. Things that can be improved for archers: - Increase input window for attack jump - Buff Focus (turn into useful Accuracy+ party skill) - Buff Concentrate so it can't be dispelled. - Remove damage cap for Marksman's Snipe. - And of course, their lackluster base HP without wash.
Moving to closed, as there are considerations already in the most recent discussion on skill changes. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/feedback-request-skill-changes-and-balancing.205730/
