What if u set donation goals and when those goals where hit there would be a 2x event. As server costs increase and player base increases there develop issues with lagging and DCing I assume that this could be due to the equipment being used or the inability to devote time to improvements because you have lives which is understandable. So by increasing revenue you can get better equipment or spend more time working with what you have, and if u give the players more incentive to donate then its a win-win. Just a thought
2x events have only occured as a form of compensation on this server. I highly doubt that would ever change. I really don't think people donating for 2x events should be a thing anyways.
That also sounds dangerously close to pay2win as we would need to spend irl money for a chance to obtain a lot of exp. We have only had 2xp for major server issues, which have only occurred twice iirc, so this is not something that we would (or should) consider. The argument that somehow more money generates more time to work on the new source is quite flawed. Time is a fixed thing and cannot be increased with money
ok let me clarify because im just trying to help. with more money u could get more people to help work on server fixes so things can be fixed in a shorter amount of time and u can enjoy running the server rather than trying to fix things. The 2x events i was thinking they would be server wide events so its not like any individual is paying to win because everyone benefits. but there is the question of is it pay 2 win but i figured id mention it anyway and see what u think. I don't see how this could possibly be thought of as pay2win It's just a really bad idea imo. I believe the only person working on the new source is Karven. Afaik they don't want anyone else working on it because having more hands touching it doesn't always result in a positive outcome. It's better to have one person know exactly what is happening to it at all times (He's the only one that modifies it).
I think donations are just fine. I have donated a bunch already an probably will donate next month too. Remember you are DONATING so dont be greedy with what is given to you as a thanks for donating. OT: Trevor do you still play?
