I am suggesting that the website/forum be hosted independently and not along side the server. Though, there might be a 2-3ms delay between the server sending information to the website, I almost guarantee it will be unnoticeable. But, I do understand that phishing does add to the lag the server experiences, and this might be a solution. I have also noticed that when people are lagging in-game, they are lagging on the forums as well. Though buying a web server for $10-20 may add to the monthly expenses, I think it's a worthwhile investment. Back when I was a GM on MapleFrontier, I did/saw a lot behind the scenes. We had multiple servers for different channels, web severs, etc. And, it worked flawlessly. There was next to no delay time, and really it was a worthwhile investment. Also, this would prevent people from being able to simply look up your IP via your website and just being able to DDoS you with LOIC, rather if somebody wanted to DDoS you they would have to know what they were doing. (Though not too difficult I might add.) This is just a suggestion, and I understand $20 is $20, and this can mean time invested depending on how your server is setup. So, I understand if this gets declined, but I thought I would simply suggest.
I've not noticed much lag on the website when there's lag in game. With the website hosted on a separate server there would be noticeable lag when loading pages all the time. We used to have it like that a long time ago and changed it to be on the same server to increase the website response time.
