The latest KSing reports have not been consistent with the new report abuse format. According to the report abuse format for killstealing, the following three guidelines MUST be met for a report to be valid:

    1. You asking a person to leave as you would prefer that they didn't train there with you or loot your items, just saying: 'cc (plz)' is not accepted.

    2. You explaining to them that you are the mapowner, showing the ~mapowner by command and explaining killstealing is not allowed on MapleRoyals by the Terms & Conditions.

    3. Time stamps (using the ~servertime command) of at least two minutes apart OR a ~bosshp difference from each other where the person is still actively killstealing you despite your attempts to make them aware that killstealing you is unwanted.

Threads in question, arranged in chronological order:

    https://royals.ms/forum/threads/ks.91431/

While someone mentions KSing is ‘reportable’ here, the only timestamps we can see are 1 minute apart. The last screenshot doesn’t show proof that a full 2 minutes have passed. This thread doesn’t fulfill #3.

The reporter here does not say much other than “cc plz” and again does not explain that it’s against the rules. Doesn’t fulfill #1 nor #2.

    https://royals.ms/forum/threads/kill-stealing.92793/

Only 1 timestamp is shown and there is no statement made about KSing being against the rules. #2 and #3 aren’t fulfilled.

I want to mention that my purpose isn't to criticize GM intern Kai who handled out all the bans in those referenced threads, it just so happened that the abuse threads that did not follow the format and resulted in bans were handled by him. The reporting guidelines in the stickied thread have always been strictly followed as to avoid pointless and petty reports, and as Tim mentioned, to promote understanding conversations between players. Now it seems more and more reports are resulting in bans. Is there a reason as to why the reporting guidelines are not being followed anymore?

First, I would like to thank you for pointing it out, as it gives me the chance to learn and better improve myself when it comes to handling reports such as those you linked.

Secondly, I would admit that some of the cases I have dealt with were not done according to the SOP, but rather on my discretion on how sufficient the evidence provided is, and for that I apologise.

Thirdly, as much as I would like to enforce the SOP on all KS reports thread, most of the threads that I came across does not conform to it, so as a staff, I would face a dilemma on whether I should take action, despite the evidence being sufficient but because they didn't fulfil the SOP of the 3 steps mentioned by Tim, I couldn't and had to reject their report and when I do that, it may make the reporter feel what makes them deserved to be KSed and justice to not be brought upon those who deserves it.

Lastly, I will discuss with the team on my actions, and will take corrective measurements to ensure it doesn't happen again. And if needed, to revise the KS SOP as it's posted way before new source in 2016 where commands like ~bosshp is no longer available.

I'm sorry if it doesn't make much sense as I'm currently on a vacation and am replying on-the-go. I will better clarify myself if need to.
