Returning after 2 years, i remembered when this first came out, i was still able to get a slot and contribute as a attacker to get a MON or Bonus stage. Fast forward now, it seems impossible to get in without any mule. Is this the norm now? Which highlights a sad problem of everything boils down to mule. Perhaps its because i am a NL?
sad reality is ppl prefer sweaty trio bon having 10 boxes to urself instead of a quad (8/7 boxes per run) or 5 man (6 boxes per run). I normally have to bring like 2 signs including an attacker for quad bon. Trio cwk have to bring like 3-4 signs depending on ur party. It isnt because ur an NL, it depends on the party sometimes people need NLs in their party and sometimes they need a warrior for bot or an archer for SE room. So end game its nice to have all signs.
less people run CWKPQ due to bonus being nerf. It's hard to recruit a full pt (10-man) nowadays. The one with mule(s) is definitely better.
The way this PQ was originally designed coupled with the ability to mule characters on Royals kinda made this inevitable. CWKPQ for many is a revenue stream and can be done with 3-4 attackers fairly easily (sometimes 1 if pro). The unfortunate side effect is that it encourages mules to sign as the PQ itself requires 2 of each class to even start it. There was a feedback thread about this some time ago with decent ideas and it seemed that those who voted were in favor of changing it from 10 man to 5 man. It's a shame that newer players are unlikely to join or find a group as this PQ is really fun with decent XP + rewards. I'd personally like to see it reduced to 5 man entry and perhaps maybe tinker with the rewards to make sure it's not too OP. You can kind of see where the problem is, the more players you invite to the PQ, the less reward boxes each individual gets. This encourages players to bring in mules to keep their rewards high.
I see. Thanks all for your replies. Sad to see how the meta changed. I have fond memories of doing this and chatting random shit with other maplers.
hey! if you dont mind, I am actually trying to host some 10man CWK, me and my friends have no mules and wish to join the PQ. let me know if you are interested
you can mange to enter without mule if you are high contributing attacker but also depends on party setup and their need (sometime is eazy as archer that can solo room, warrior that can solo/significant damage at bottom,NL that can solo/significant damage on pirate boss) but i said YES you need mule because is not allways eazy to find party on regular if you are just a NL looking for BoN BoN is like doing gacha for ws and cs this days and can go eazy dry for few days especially if there is no MoN service which in most case you have to have mule/sign mule/ or pay for sign am not sure if nerfed , mas farmed that made valued items rare and also kinda cheap or cwk just aged but doing 3-4man BoN now with all the efort of funding/mules feels like 5-6man BoN before for example tao of shadow that was 100m~ and other taos that were 20-40m ea could have obtain without mule in a 5-6 MaN bon now in a 3-4man those a still rare and their values... (shadow 30-40m and other 2-5m ea)
agree that , with bon items price cheap like crazy and ws/cs maintained, there isnt incentive to do with more people at all.
generally i myself hate too many mules inside a pq, since a pq is supposed to be teamwork based, i'd like to see real players inside, not 1-2 players and 4 or 5 mules, or so. sometimes you have no choice, so in that case i guess it'd be okay to bring a mule inside. the main problem with this pq though is you need various classes, 1 each, to enter. that can lead to a long and exhausting recruiting process!
I really wanted to start a similar thread. The way I see it, I'd rather get 0nly 6 boxes at bon, or even less, if it means I get in faster and finish the bosses quicker. I hate multi client. But that's because I'm fine with slower progression (with money and equips) if I'm having a good time and feeling the nostalgy.
The thing is that the Corona became less influential now and people are back to work/school, so the server got a lot less people (down from like 2-3k online last year to less than 1000) This both made it a lot harder to create large parties and also caused deflation and made the bonus stage a lot less profitable. Nowadays 4 atk bfc is like 100m in fm, so even if you got good items (which usually you don't) it's not really worth your time With the way it is now I'd suggest to just make it a 5 player party quest (1 of each class) since the rest aren't really necessary. Also you can make it that dual client isn't allowed there (it already worked in event bosses) so people won't just duo the pq or something.
