Hello guys, I've been wanting to make a Marksman for a while now and I always wondered, is making a STR-less marksman a good idea? What are the pros and cons? And most importantly, what is the correct way to make & develop a good STR-less marksman?
I see only one reason a STRless Marksman is relevant: The Maple Nishada and Pyrope crossbows have a Fast speed as opposed to Normal from standard crossbows, and unlike Bowmasters speed actually helps your DPS (albeit slightly). I don't know how godly one of those would have to be to make it worth it; or if it's better than a normal crossbow with a low STR build, but I personally made mine STRless because I'm lazy. Also, there's not really any special way to develop a statless character. Get all your maple weapons, scroll or buy a godly high level one, scroll for DEX, DEX, and more DEX, and call it a day. Archers have it even easier since their armor has no secondary stat requirements.
Why is it the only reason you see for a STRless Marksman? The main reason I was thinking about is just the simple fact that all the ability points go to DEX only, which makes the archer stronger of course... Is it better being just a low-STR archer instead of a STRless one? I am now level 14 and I have only 4 STR , and I see that the level 15 bow requires 20 STR to be able to equip it... those kind of things make the decision of STRless/low-STR hard for me.
Usually most classes use a level 100/110 weapon while getting as much secondary stat as possible from other equips. There's nothing wrong with being STRless, I was just listing the main benefit from it aside from not having to worry about STR. If you want to be STRless, you lose nothing by doing so.
In terms of damage you should first go strless and use the maple weapons. After that convert into lowstr and make sure you don't surpass the amount of str you need (including boosts from your equips) past the amount you need for your end-game weapon. I believe that would be 110 str in total.
STRless at first to low STR, your STR will get lower and lower when you have more STR equips by using AP reset in late game. Begin with Lvl 35, 43, 64 Maple xbow. And then start funding for 30+ STR Overall, Zakum Helm, STR leaf, 9 STR shoes, scrolled STR cape, Dept star etc. Enough 100 STR for a lvl 100 Neschere. If you have already max out and still doesn't have enough STR for high level xbows, add some on your STR stat. End-game: WS+10% Overall STR on a Ades/Arzuna will give you 60+ STR, htp+egg STR. All these in exchange with using a FS and PGC. I hope I'm right...
I am kinda new to the game so I'll be glad if you could please write the abbreviations fully , for example " WS+10% Overall STR" , I have no idea what that means lol. Actually I didn't understand the whole last sentence (Marked it with green color in the quote).
End-game: Whitescroll + 10% scrolls for Overall armor for STR (whitescrolls prevent failed scrolls from taking away slots, so you will end of with 50 strength from scrolls). Ades/Arzuna are lvl 90 and 100 bowman overalls. Leaf is a face accessory you can get from showa gachapon, they have 5 str clean on average, but can have up to 11 str clean (they exist for dex, int and luk too). htp stands for Horntail pendant which is a 7/7/7/7 necklace (up to 13/13/13/13), egg refers to horntail egg, which is a special upgrade specifically for a horntail necklace, it adds 15/15/15/15. FS stands for facestompers; 2 att shoes, PGC stands for Pink Gaia cape; a 2 attack cape (up to 8 clean).
