Is MapleRoyals turning to v83?!!

Woah is mapleroyals seriously changing to v83? No thanks that would be the end of many players including me.

We will eventually use a v83 client yes as it allows us to do a lot more than the v62 client does. However this does not mean that we will become a v83 server as you will not see major game changes like the introduction of Aran and Knights of Cygnus.

 

I think they are updating some of the skills but not making the server a v83 server. I could be wrong, this is what I have seen.

You guys already know that you will lose many players so why are you doing this? If you keep the server just like it is now but fix some bugs, crashes etc, it would be just fine... Turning to v83 ( after reading this https://royals.ms/forum/threads/v83.2417/ ) will seriously go downgrade.. Look what happened to other servers including MapleDestiny after wiping and new updates...

 

We won't lose many players no, in fact a lot of players are still here just because they want the new source to happen. I want you to understand that the v62 client has a ton of restrictions which means that we won't be able to add more NX items anymore for example because the v62 client can only read up to a certain item id. If you want the game to never make any progress anymore and to just die out naturally, then sticking to the v62 client is probably the way to go. There are many more restrictions which makes us want to update to a new client, and once again this will not change the gameplay or experience of the server much at all.

 

The poll you posted is 3 years old, I don't think that's relevant any more.

Also as far as I'm aware wipes will not be happening. Even as a big sucker for nostalgia I see no disadvantage in upgrading v83

The open beta is also available for you to play on so you can see what the new source is going to be like. It uses a v83 client, but you can immediately see what v83 features are not available. In essence, the only thing that makes the current source "v62" and the new source "v83" is the client that is being used in conjunction with the source.

 

I can't wait for monster Carnival Party Quest! after all i started playing maplestory late 2005 and quit 2010, so no problems here why why do i panic? ROFL

 

Yeah Im cool any update as long as there are no map changes or class additions. That's what killed maple for me.

 

So with the client changing does that mean v83 nx will be available in the cash shop? Because as it currently stands you have donor items that are in fact v83 nx. Not to mention switching to a v83 client can remove v62 nx within the cash shop. For example a lot of the transparent items you have within your donor items are easily accessible in a v83 cash shop.

 

whats in the cash shop is customized by staff nothing will just randomly dissapear just because they switch client. I think that donor items will never be available for purchase with nx, the new client only allows for adding more new nx/donor items. But thats just one of the many reasons as to why the new client should be better than the current one.
