pumped all my stats into DEX from 1-now 22 so i am only able to use the lvl 10 bow. figured it was best bet with dexless sins/lukless mages but im not only taking damage badly but it seems my damage is also heavily lacking. went to kill bubblings at level 21 and it was already a struggle. bubblings are only lvl 15 but im hitting a lot of 1's even with low level double shot. can't really find much info regarding this just people talking about scrolling for str gear is harder then just adding str and scrolling for dex

Archers only worry about STR when they hit the level for nisrock / neschere (lv100). prior to that you have your maple weapons (lv30,64,77) that last you till either lv100 (weapon requirement) or lv135 (bossing level) before you switch to nisrock / neschere.

The lv 80 & 90 weapons are also used as transition gear (slightly lesser strength) while the archer gets their gear in order. You would only add missing strength that you are not able to get from gear then, but most will try to stay low or none base str.

Strless archers are the way to go but pre-level 30 can prove difficult because of the lack of gear. I'm guessing you are a new player so try to aim for a +10 att Work Glove (quite cheap) and a +20 dex bathrobe (also quite cheap). Once you hit 30, you should see quite a noticeable difference with the maple bow.

I would also consider training else where as bubblings have a high base movement speed and a fast spawn rate making training as an archer quite terrible. Consider these options in this guide

My personal suggestion is either KPQ or Axe Stump/Dark Axe Stump.

STRless archer is indeed a thing, just at -early- and -endgame- stages.

as friends stated above, you have a handful of maple bows/crossbows that do not require STR to use. you should use them through all your journey up to lv. 100 ~ 110.

at these levels you have access to what would be your endgame weapon respectively, and both are regular bows/crossbows that require some STR to equip.

so, you can be STRless early on while using maple weapons, then at higher levels put some AP into STR (along with STR equips) so you can use a new lv.100/110 weapon.

way later on when your character gets to higher grounds and you become acquainted with endgame gear, you can focus on getting the max STR possible off equips and/or maple warrior 20 buff to the point you no longer need AP invested into STR or just a little to reach 100/110 STR.

I'm at level 187 and I only have 20 base STR, since all my equips already get me to +110.

so you can transition from STRless, to some STR, to low STR, to possibly STRless again.

Yea im new. Ended up kind of quitting the archer found my super old account from idk how many years ago so i just swapped over to that and tried out gunslinger. seemed to have same issue as the archer though. Ended up just doing some recommended quests off this guide and trying to farm a maple gun with no luck. slower leveling but got to 30 so hopefully will be easier once i get a maple weapon and what not. tried KPQ with them both had same issue hit a lot of 1's was kind of difficult to really do the 1st stage without needing a lot of help. gunslinger wasn't that bad though i went at like level 24. Just gonna try PQing and what not see what it can handle and then grind i guess until i can make money and get better gear.

yea idk if it is or not i figure maybe it was just due to low level attack skill since my double shot was only level 1 at the time but even when i maxed out double shot on my gunslinger first it was similar results. surprisingly got to lvl 34 now but slowly grinding and doing quests maxing out mastery and it has gotten better but i haven't tried KPQ or CPQ since. wasn't planning on going strless but just kinda ended up that way idk why. will eventually get more str and go low str though

Just wait for level 35 to get maple bow, for now you can use some atk potions (like warrior elixir from NLC/Cider from Showa) and some cheap atk glove if you can afford it.
It will make up for the lost atk from higher lvl bows
