"It's the internet" so it should be tolerated everywhere? what kind of an argument is that? By standard I mean it's tolerated enough that it happens often.

Also this wasn't a post about "homosexuality", but about not making it disturbing for others and keeping a community friendly. Why force your homosexuality on others? Not long ago there was someone who got banned for calling a GMs parent gay, which I think is fair to keep community clean, but then again how is this tolerated? People should either accept this degenerate behavior or leave? This is why I left this server a while ago and I am surprised to come back and see that this hasn't changed one bit.

And I can't believe I saw a thread where people complained about how strict GMs are, people can't really speak their mind. This is actually the opposite.

Is it derogatory? Yes. However, it doesn't necessarily seem like they're insulting each other, or other players. It's wishy washy on it all and it is really up to the GM's and the Admins to decide if it's punishable. If it is, then it could ruin the experience for some and there could also be a lot of bans happening for it. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, however it is human behavior. Especially on the internet where identity is hidden.

Then I appologize for ruining the experience of perverts and pedophiles on maplestory, I am truly sorry. This should indeed be tolerated, let's all start talking about disgusting matters out loud on smegas where you have to read them if you're looking to buy/sell something.
Maybe we also should let pedophiles into kindergardens, we sure don't want to ruin their experience if they don't do anything and just watch. It's human behavior.

If this behavior is tolerated, it should be +18 stictly. NOT where kids are allowed.

Also the Sofia clip is different, it's from an adult show not meant for kids. Honestly it pisses me off even more how everyone is defending this behavior.

Bud, I think you took it a bit out of context. I did not say I agreed with it. Talking about perverts and pedophiles in schools, etc. is taking it a bit far. From what I understand, Matt wants the MapleRoayls to be a PG-13 group. If deemed to be out of context above that, they can decide to punish. It's up to the rest of the community to report this kind of behavior. If it is happening while you are playing then you can report it. If you also wish, I believe you can actually turn smegas off and also keep the chat box closed.

In Royals, some people are seen more then others. The silent majority of players never spam SMegas, and the minority of players with too much mesos usually just spam crap, nonsense and garbage. For this reason, I often mute SMegas (I think it's done with ~megaphones disableall or something similar)

What people think is fun varies a lot. If what one thinks is fun is disturbing to another, the joking should stop in my opinion. This is rather easy in reality (I tell my friends to stop for example) but is harder online. People simply lack the sensitivity and emotional intelligence to read that out of a written message (no facial expression, voice tone or body language involved).
So in other words, it's hard for the regular player to control what is written in SMegas. But saying "it's standard online" is an extremely poor argument. What is the ISO code for that standard?
No. The standards of online communication is made up of the people expressing themselves there. If the "standard" is poor, I can myself refuse to adapt to it and communicate above that instead. It could lead to an improved "standard" over time.
If people want to use certain jargon, they could do so in smaller chats like buddy /guild...

@Zerato Indeed, that's what I was aiming at. Keep this in groups or guilds. I personally don't like having smegas off since it also has it's uses and I don't think I should have to either.

Hyper sensitivity is far worse than hyper vulgarity. Stop being such a girl. The real world is ten times more vulgar than anything you showed and the internet isn’t your safe space.

I see nothing at all about pedophilia here, which damn sure wouldn't be tolerated. However I also think it's pretty intolerant of you to make a big post about this and specifically highlight your issue with it is the subject matter being gay. No one is forcing you to read those messages, and definitely no one is forcing homosexuality on you.
If you think context is in breach of the Terms and Conditions you are welcome to make a report, but reports made out of spite or for malicious purposes won't really get far.
This statement is from me as a player.

Fair enough, I might have gone a bit off topic. This was supposed to be a thread about the distrubing language used on smega chat which doesn't seem to have changed over the years when I last played here.

Should take a hint then! Normal people don’t care about this type of stuff. People use words you may not like. That’s life.

I like how you use the word "normal" to try and make me feel abnormal just because I don't turn a blind eye. "normal" is a way to control the society, normal is portrayed on the big billboards in bikinis/shorts. I have a feeling that whatever I say, it's going to get responses that further prove my point.

Also I did say this post was not about "homosexuality" although I mistakenly included that in my post with 1 short question
@Muff You didn't really address the issue, but rather replied with an attack and yes loli=pedophilia of which I've seen smegas. So where is the limit? This is permitted and you defend the point by saying "You don't have to read it"?

Normal meaning the majority of people and not the overly sensitive minority. You are abnormal. The majority of people don’t get hurt or offended over seeing commonly used words on a computer screen.

Yes, exactly. For example, to most normal people those bodies on ads and billboards are perfectly fine. To sensitive people they’re “omg too unrealistic and perfect wahh make them fat and gross instead!!” Again, you are the exception. The minority. The abnormal one.
