Hi, IGN (All Character Names): Zhane, MrShmallow, FishAndChips, iPunchU, MrShmaiiow (i believe it’s with 2 capital I’s instead of lower L’s - MrShmaIIow) Problem: keep getting disconnected from server msg after character selection. Details: I keep getting the ‘disconnected from server’ msg after character selection. I haven’t played in a few years, thought of making a small comeback for nostalgia sake, so past 2 days I reset my pw and logged in after a long time. After character selection I immediately got disconnected from server message. Tried a few more times and between login attempts realized my vpn was on (NordVPN). Didn’t think about it too much untilI saw the message continuing. I tried figuring out the reason for the d/c message, the top results suggested it might’ve been because I tried logging in with a VPN on. I also tried logging in without it, but I guess the damage was already done. I would really appreciate any help, Thank you! (KPQ here I come!)
Hi, thanks for the reply, I don’t mind disabling it while playing, but being told to uninstall a legitimate paid service I use regularly feels a bit extreme — would you mind elaborating a bit more? Is there no other way? Thanks.
When NordVPN is installed, it causes an invalid MAC address (00:00:00:00:00:00) to be set on your computer, even when the VPN is disabled. You cannot connect to our servers with this invalid MAC address, and so the easiest solution is unfortunately to uninstall the VPN.
IIf you wish to keep the NordVPN installed while not affecting Royals, you would need to disable NordLynx from time to time (it will come back eventually) We respect your usage of paid software, however we can't do anything should certain software affects Royals
Thank you both! I was able to solve the issue and get past the character selection screen by disabling NordLynx and making sure I had a valid MAC address. Appreciate the help — looking forward to jumping back in!
