For your first job advancement, you need to be at the required level to obtain that class and have the minimum required stat for each class. The stats for each class is as follows: Warrior: 35 Str Bowman: 25 Dex Magician: 20 Int Pirate: 20 Dex Thief: 25 Dex It's level 10 for all classes other than Magicians which is 8. For each instructor, I'll be putting a picture of their entrance portal under their picture, name and map. Here are the locations for each first job instructor: Be sure to use all your skills points before advancing to the next class, otherwise you will not be able to advance. For your second job advancement (excluding Pirate), you'll need to be at least level 30 and talk to your first job instructor. From then, they will tell you to talk to another job instructor to obtain a Proof of a Hero. Once you reach your second job instructor, they'll ask you to collect 30 Dark Marbles in a special map with spawns of monsters which you will be teleported to. Collect the 30 Dark Marbles and talk to your second job instructor at the top of the special map and you will receive a Proof of a Hero. Go back to your first job instructor, give him/her the Proof of a Hero and you will advance to the next class of your choosing. For Pirates, go back to Kyrin in Nautilus Harbor and she will teleport you to a special map containing Octopirates that drop either Potent Wind Crystals (Gunslinger) or Potent Power Crystal (Brawler). After collecting 15, talk to Kyrin to exit the map, talk to her again and you will advance to the next job of your choice. Here are the locations of each second job instructor: Be sure to use all your skills points before advancing to the next class, otherwise you will not be able to advance. You will need to obtain a Dark Crystal which can be refined at El Nath for 10 Dark Crystal Ores and 100,000 mesos. For your third job advancement, I recommend buying 3 Teleport Rocks from other people or buying them directly from the Cash Shop because this will save you a lot of time travelling. With your Teleport Rocks, have them set to your first job instructor as well as El Nath where you will visit your third job instructor. When you reach at least level 70, you will be able to advance to your third job. You'll need to go to El Nath: Chief's Residence and talk to you third job instructor. Your third job instructor will direct you back to your first job instructor and he/she will tell you to defeat their dark copy of themselves in a Door of Dimension (Any Door of Dimension will work despite the class). Here is the location of the Door of Dimension that is, in my opinion, the most easiest to access. All you need to do is pay the Black Taxi Cab in Lith Harbor or Ellinia then walk all the way to the right end of the map and teleport up at the egg. Door of Dimension ~ Sleepywood: Ant Tunnel Park Spoiler Click on Door of Dimension and defeat the dark copy of your job instructor to receive a Black Charm. I recommend getting some Holy Water from Ludibrium: Path of Time before heading to the boss because they occasionally cast 'Lock' on you. You won't be able to obtain the Black Charm until after a few seconds has passed, but eventually if you hold the 'pick up' key on the Black Charm, you'll be able to pick it up. Go back to your first job instructor (NOTE: You will not receive a Necklace of Strength. Just go to your third job instructor after you've spoken to your first job instructor) and then talk to your third job instructor. Your third job instructor will ask you to go to a special map at El Nath: Sharp Cliff II (Holy Ground at the Snowfield). A quick way to get here is by taking the black taxi cab all the way to the right of El Nath and paying 50,000 mesos and going up two maps. Click on the Holy Stone in the bottom of the special map and in exchange for the Dark Crystal, it will ask you two questions that are the same for all classes. The answer for the questions are: What is GM Matt's favorite food? Pizza What is the meso drop rate in Maple Island? 2 What is the exp rate in Maple Island? 1 What is the drop rate in Maple Island? 2 After answering those questions, you will receive the Necklace of Wisdom. Turn the Necklace of Wisdom to your third job instructor and you will advance to your third job. Be sure to use all your skills points before advancing to the next class, otherwise you will not be able to advance. For your fourth job advancement, I recommend buying 2 Teleport Rocks from other people or buying them directly from the Cash Shop because this will save you a lot of time travelling. With your Teleport Rocks, have them set to your third job instructor as well as Leafre where you will visit your fourth job instructor. Once you reach level 120, talk to your third job instructor. They will direct you to your fourth job instructor in a hidden street in Leafre: Valley of the Antelope (Leafre: Forest of the Priest). Once inside, talk to your fourth job instructor and he/she will ask you to obtain a Heroic Star (Dropped by Griffy) and a Heroic Pentagon (Dropped by Manon). You could also obtain these two items by purchasing a Secret Spell Scroll from the Eos Tower: 44th Floor Scroll Seller Vega for 10M or purchase one from the Free Market from other players and trading it in for a Heroic Star and Pentagon from Chief Tatamo. If you decide to trek all the way to Eos Tower: 44th Floor, be sure to go back up to the 55th floor to use a Nearest Town Scroll because anything less than that will teleport you to Omega Sector. Once you obtain both Heroic pieces, talk to you fourth job instructor and you will advance to your fourth job. Special thanks to: @Chokladkakan Reminding me to add in stat requirements for each class @Sila Informing me about third job advancement @Christopher Chance Small tips for advancement
A couple things of note: All door of dimensions work for any class. Easiest one to use is the one in Ant tunnel. Relog after completing the battle with the third job mage. Sometimes it bugs up and you'll be invisible to other players and get sent back to the map you were supposed to exit at, even after moving away several other maps. Third job question- the second one varies. It can be *either* Meso, *or* exp, *or* drop rate. Pay close attention to the question you get. If you get it wrong once, it will change again.
I'm too use to playing on low graphics because I can see the drops better. I might change them if someone else is bothered with them
A genuine question from an oblivious islander: really? Does one not require certain ability points in order to qualify?
Just saying there is a typo for the 4th job advancement section. You begin it off with "For your third job advancement"
As for the 3rd job adv travelling there is a'Nx cheapo' alternative. From Orbis to El Nath: the classic 'go down till 7th floor and use nearest town scroll'. From El Nath to Orbis: Go from El Nath to first map of Aquaroad (outside of tower) and use nearest town scroll, From Aqua Road talk to Dolphin NPC and warp to Herb Town. Now talk to crane NPC and go to Mu lung and from there talk to same NPC to go Orbis. (you can also use this method backwards on the 'Orbis to El Nath') Note: Will update later with pics huehuehue Regarding the 3rd job adv 'Door of Dimension' part or 'Fight your 1st job instructor' part, its recommended to bring All Cure potions (you can buy from FM or if you have done Alcaster's questline you can buy from him) with you, specially if you are a mage (good luck with the constant seals). If you forgot bringing your All Cures with you, don't worry. If you have potions to spare (you should) a good way to avoid getting debuffs is by letting urself get hit by monsters. You can either corner the oldie instructor to a corner (melee prefered) and using your skills near him so you get hit or wait for the silly instructor to summon the almighty Tauromacis (2 will spawn each time the instructor summons; Note: it's not a one time summon so better be quick killing) so you get hit by their magic attacks (just like any other monster, for them to hit you with magic attacks you will need to him them first ~)
Please have this pinned. I spent too much time trying to find the answers to the 3rd class question quest...
It's not supposed to work that way though so after the new source is released this MIGHT not be the case anymore
Although not essential to the question of "how to job advance", it might be nice to add in here how many additional AP/SP you are awarded on each job advance. This guide looks like the ideal place to go to for that sort of information, hence my request!
