I think in the game and on the forum are different. It might related to some forum rules.

 

Also I think the other one is so clearly absurd it's impossible to think of it as serious (one trillion dollars)

1 million yen is a lot of money but certainly believable that someone has that sum of money to spend (what they do with it is their choice and not for us to discern). However, one individual does not possess one trillion dollars so that is not believable in any way. That would be akin to giving someone a full size dinosaur in exchange for an equip, that's not believable.

 

Clearly I was saying 1b Chinese yuan cuz @incostancy and I are Chinese.

 

I would believe it if someone wants to buy my shit for 1 trillion dollars.

P.S, a million yen is approx 9 grand in US currency. Who would pay 9 grand for... hmm what's the most godly item in the game. Idk Tim's shoes?

How about we hone in on cases where realistic amounts of money are being offered, "f3" and "jk" aren't being used to point out one is obviously joking, and the chat/dialogue suggests that the RWTer is being serious? Because what I'm getting out of this is:

"YOO you're still selling your perfect sleeve right? B>sleeve $5000 f3 LOL jk"

..can warrant a ban. Absolutely ridiculous. But that's just my opinion.

 

Pretty sure saying anything like what you suggested would not constitute a believable claim. Staff just have to work with the information presented in front of them.

For the record, I think this thread is dumb af.

 

People spend 60-100 dollars for a sweatshirt that says Cape Cod or Vineyard Vines on it. Some people spend several thousand on a piece of glass used to look nice. (see spoiler). Hell one of my professors is buying a house on Nantucket for over a million bucks, and my bedroom in my tiny 3 bedroom apartment I'm living in at school is bigger than the house he's buying.

I think it's all ridiculous, but people still spend the money, and there are a million other examples. Just because it sounds insane, doesn't mean it's unbelievable, whereas 1 trillion USD is not only unbelievable, but impossible in the same breathe.

IMO, should people joke about it at all? No. Will they? Yes. But as it was stated before, the staff has to use what's in front of them when deciding what is and what isn't bannable, and unfortunately like many things in life there isn't a clear cut line between whats okay and what isn't.

If a joke is caught, simply ban them, let them know how serious is it rather than letting them using a loophole like unbelievable claim. You can joke about it behind, but don't let people caught you. There, a line is given, if you cross it and get caught? Answer to the consequences.

Be serious for a second and think of the difference between a few thousands and a trillion dollars. One is within reasonable boundaries, the other is clearly not.

Imho who would pay anything over a thousand for equips tho for pixels but hey aint my business when it comes to what ppl spend money on

There is a problem here in royals, you can't joke around and you always have to be careful because any little slip up and everyone is on your ass trying to ban you for the smallest offences. Stop trying to be hero's, you're trying to make this game better but you're making it worse.

I wouldn't go that far all I'm saying is everyone needs to relax a little.

 

Finally got some time to write something.

When admin/gm banned me, they know @incostancy and I are Chinese, cuz 1. Different GMs seem to be assigned to deal with char issue/abuse report/etc. according to where the players are from (according to this page, Fergus doesn't know Japanese), and 2. Incostancy post This before my joke, and I replied it.

Does ¥1b ($148.7m) and $1t make any difference? With ¥1b one could have made his own server. Very few ppl has $148.7m, not to mention it's just for an equip.
As the reason for the ban says, "jokingly soliciting rwt with an unrealistic amount".
Clearly it contradicts what @John said. The ban was given to someone making unbelievable offer.


So again back to my question: is joking about RWT bannable?
