As the title implies, I'm having an issue where my keyboard stops working entirely, and I am forced to hard reset my computer. This has only happened so far in Ghost Ship 1 and Ghost Ship 2. I found this thread explaining that I can use the chatbox fix, but I attempted this the last few times I got stuck and had no success. I'm alright with avoiding GS2, but it's quite a great grind map and I would love to be able to utilize it. I've tried using moving the chatbox up and down, with my mouse as well as hitting the expand and collapse button, using a potion, spamming any and every key on my keyboard, but no dice. I've lost my map a handful of times already when I couldn't text a friend to come hold it and even died once. If anyone has a clue, I'd appreciate your input. If you need any more information from me, feel free to ask. Edit: I've also attempted to reinstall the client and try the above mentioned things; no luck. Edit2: Virus scans came up empty (MalwareBytes, Avast). Trained there for about 45min later to attempt to exit game via mouse when I freeze to see if keyboard is unlocked but I didn't freeze. Will try again later.
When your keyboard stops working does your character just stand still? I had a keyboard before that had a loose connection and if it lost connection a few times even my mouse stopped working. Never heard something like this be caused by Royals, try scan your computer for viruses.
Yeah, I end up just standing still. I can still use my mouse to access inventory and everything else via the buttons on the HUD but that's it. I've tried plugging an external keyboard into my laptop as well, and that didn't help. Even while playing exclusively with the external keyboard I've had the same issue. I'll run a virus scan but I don't think it likely to be the cause. I just find it odd that it's only on these maps the issue occurs. And somehow, its always incredibly inconvenient (someone else enters the map, etc). I appreciate the response nonetheless and I'll give the virus scan a go and edit my results in later. There are no problems that would cause your keyboard to stop working, it must be something on your side. I can't even imagine that Royals could cause your keyboard to stop working outside of the game, even when you close it. Maybe you have some shortcut on your computer that you activate? Try reinstalling drivers
