Did a couple runs of Kerning PQ while I was in the area, and on the second run, the first stage NPC asked me (I was party member, not leader) something along the lines of "the number of ligators needed is equal to all answers individually" which I'm guessing was for the party leader to see. clicked again, same thing. collected some tickets from ligators and now the message had changed to a more familiar one "amount of DEX for bowman 1st job advance" so we were able to advance no problem after the initial confusion
