Legality of playing on this server

I am curious about the legality of playing on this server. I would really like to play MapleRoyals, however I attend a school that has a really strict honor code, where if you steal/lie you can get kicked out. I want to know if it is safe for me to play on this server, or if playing could be considered stealing because of copyright issues. Thanks!

It's a real question lol, I'm not trying to risk getting kicked out of college to play a video game. I know someone that got in huge trouble at my school because they got caught having an illegally downloaded song on their computer. Would appreciate an answer.

It really depends on how your school interprets theft as it is a grey area under these circumstances. Legally you, as a player, will not be charged or conviced for playing on this server since it is a f2p game for which the company who holds the copyright claim will not be able to prove that your playing on the server resulted in lost revenue; as opposed to the issue with your friend in which he turrented an item that is sold for a fixed price within an industry that invests heavily in methods of detecting copyright infringement and theft. Alternatively, if your school follows kantian ethics, which it might since i've never heard of such a ridiculous policy, then you will be penalized and publically humiliated in front of your peers for playing this game.

I'm really not sure how serious this thread is but if you're afraid to play or have reservations, I would say don't play. An online game isn't worth risking your schooling for if you believe that's what will happen. No one on here can determine that for you, you must decide for yourself.
