Let's start fresh with the new sauce!

My vision for this adventure is simple:

It is our goal to experience the game anew in a fresh light; perhaps even working our way up from the ground together. Grinding, doing party quests, chilling together, riding the boat to Orbis; and having to hide from the flying balrog: all those things we love about nostalgic MapleStory. To play the game again like we once did when we just started and bring back the feelings we had back then.

If you want to join there are a few guidelines you have to follow:

1. No leeching; you play the game yourself.
2. If you make a new character, don't use over powered items from your main to fund your new character; this gives you an unfair advantage over the others and ruins your own 'fresh start' experience anyway. Items used for cosmetic purposes are allowed, though.

Community
The community is just as important as the core mechanics of the game itself. Without it it would bleed out and run dry.

To stay in touch with everybody outside of the game we have a Discord channel. To join you will need an invitation which will be send to you via the forums when you sign up by following the guidelines further down the post.

We also have a guild called 'Sauce' which you can join if you sign up by following the guidelines further down the post. The maximum amount of members a guild can hold is 100: Full means full.

The guild has only one absolute rule you need to follow:
- No leeching; you have to play the game yourself.
Being a decent human being is not a rule but an expectation and common sense is simply a plus.



Party Quests
A lot of us are starting over to be able to do all the fixed party quests, me included, so of course we will be doing a lot of those, especially the Carnaval Party Quest (CPQ)! But also the Other party quests like Henesys PQ, Kerning PQ, Pirate PQ, Ludi maze PQ, etc. Not to exclude the Guild PQ of course!

Events
Naturally there will be events for the guild as well! Here is a list of events we came up with:

• Jump Quest
• Lottery
• Snail Race
• Scavaner Hunt
• Treasure Hunt
• Escort
• True/False
• Tourism contest

Do keep in mind that I am not a GameMaster; if people misbehave during a guild event by spamming the chat or cheating you will just be disqualified.
Prices for winning an event can include fancy equips, chairs, NX, mesos, use item, or an art piece made by me.

A: Yes.

Q&A
Q: I don't want to make a new character, can I join with my lvl x character?
A: You will not be able to join immediately; you will have to wait for us to catch up to your level. It will be better if you make a new character, it is what this whole thing is about. As long as your character is not funded and still within a lvl 1-30 range is it will be fine, though.

I thought it was a nice idea, but I'll put up a poll to see how people feel about it. If people don't like it we can just drop that thing. The point is to have fun, not to shoot ourselves in the foot I suppose.

my main account is currently at lvl 118 and i agree with those "no money, items from main"
Im thinking about making f/p mage from zero, and i would like to make a new guild instead of using your dead guild
Also a great thing is that you are one hour behind from my timezone! (My timezone is GMT+2)

 

I am new on the server and only got to level 15 with a mage, so i could join you guyss when the people are around that level

 

Ah I had seen your message in the shoutbox and I was waiting for this thread.

I'm down! I'm planning on making a new character when possible anyway, to also explore and discover what the new source added.

As a returning noob, I'd love to join This is just what i was looking for, my ign is Bubb. I'm lv 25 rouge and looking to become a assasin with nx worth aprox 300m and nothing else xD

It's great to hear you would like to join us in our adventure. Lvl 25 is quite a high lvl though for what we want to do, and it will be very difficult for us to catch up with you with such a level gap. It is our goal to start fresh after all. If you want I can still put you on the list though; I don't really want to exclude anyone. It would be nice if you could start along side with us by creating a new character. Just let me know what you want to do

 

I am well aware that it is called source, but I chose for sauce for no particular reason other than that is sounded funny and has sort of become a meme here. ^_^

This sounds like a great idea. Been wanting to play a CB, but the fact that it brings nothing (no benefits) to my other chars stopped me. I also don't want to screw up my main while the new source is unstable, so exploring around seems good. Also, no worries of end game and/or washing either. I'd love to join, please count me in. Unfortunately, my timezone is GMT+8.
