Currently there are anti-hacking measures in place that prevent LiveSplit from working properly with MapleRoyals. I want to speedrun jumpquests, as boring as that sounds, and I need LiveSplit to do it. The problem is that LiveSplit needs access to MapleRoyals's memory dumps, but the game blocks this probably as it suspects it is malicious packet sniffing. LiveSplit is not capable of malicious behavior. It would be awesome if there could be some way to let it in, but if that wish is too unfeasible then I will not bug the forum about it any longer. More information about LiveSplit can be found on its homepage: http://livesplit.github.io/ -edited for formatting
Have you tried running livesplit as an administrator? If that doesn't work, the whatever the client does to block it was part of the AC measures taken by Nexon and outside of redirecting the client to Royals servers, nothing is changed in the executable so unless they come out with their own client, it's not feasible to change anything.
Yeah, I've tried that. LiveSplit spits out an error message with something to the effect of "can't access memory" no matter what I do. It makes total sense now that I've done a little research around the interwebs, and I figured MR staff couldn't do anything about it, but I thought the best thing would be to just see what the community thinks.
I don't think this is something we will ever consider allowing when the custom client is being developed. Reason: See #3 of your poll.
