Hi, I have a question about logging in from multiple locations. Let's consider a couple of scenarios. 1) I login from home + library. Different IPs but close geological location. 2) I'm browsing the web with a vpn but forget to turn it off. Shows i logged in from halfway across the world. Are either of these an issue or is it fine to do it freely? Do i need to warn the GMs/mods/admins/whatever that i use multiple IPs? Would i have to do this for every new account made if i make more than 1? Edit: I just voted from a different IP
You can login from different locations, lets say someone get perma banned at the library and you play there regularly that could be a problem, especially if you use a library computer and not your own. Better not play with a VPN, you might not even be able to connect and if others play in your area, that might be seen as, both account sharing, or you being someone that has been perma banned.
I see, maybe you or someone could help clarify what exactly happens. Are bans account based, ip based or both? Eg. Unbanned account tries to log in with a banned ip. Would the ban then "stick" to the account if they later try to login from an unbanned ip location?
Bans are both IP and computer based and of course all accounts gets banned. Don't think it would stick unless you get associated with the banned IP and the staff are pretty good at finding out. If you only use VPN when you play and then only play from public places that sounds very much like you are hiding something, so avoid using VPN at home.
