Usually you tell the tattoo artist what you want, then he draws it according to what you describe. If you don't like it, he draws another one. Most good tattoo artists aren't willing to copy someone else's art. Unless you play on tattoo yourself, then that's different.
I have multiple tattoos and I know what youre saying, but here on military base we have artist who tattoo what you want as long as you have what you want. I have my own artist I go to but his style is different from mine but he does exactly what I give him
