Hey all, I've recently felt lost, or at least lost motivation to do anything. I'm currently a level 83 Priest, and at this level everyone suggests Wolf Spiders. Well I can't actually kill them on my own, therefore I spend 90% of my play time waiting in the map on CH1 for someone to arrive. Once they arrive I pray they aren't another Priest or are higher than level 80 otherwise we're both useless. The biggest factor why this is so slow for me is because I live in England and I am only able to play 3 to 4 hours an evening which are quite quiet times for the server. What I would like to do is HP / MP wash a BowMaster (currently level 10 - awaiting INT gear). However we all know that will cost money and I'm certainly not killing any bosses at level 83, so I tried going to APQ however that lags literally 9 times out of 10 for me. I have no way of knowing how to fix it or even if it is fixable. That rules that out. My current only way of making money is buying 35 Gachapon tickets at a time and hoping that I get something decent which hasn't yet happened - even if I do get something, I'd have to spend 3 hours shouting in FM. I'd like to ask for advice on what to do in terms of training. A lot of the guides say 80-90 WS etc. There is very little detail, arguably a guide, explaining alternatives or advice on other areas. I believe my only option is to go to GS2 and just be a HS mule and eventually one day make enough to fund this BM fantasy I have. That will take forever this way. Any advice on how to get past these levels without considering quitting? It's not actually fun nor worth my time staring at an empty map.
You should try surfing those WS maps for people in need of HS. Sadly until you reach 120 the best method for you is to find a party to HS. With regards to your APQ lag, I suffer from this too. You need to restart your client after every APQ run to avoid the FPS drop. Not sure why it does it but I do this after every run, it's a bit of a pain but at least it works. So many people suffer from the same that they're okay to wait on you restarting. I'd also suggest saving NX for a FM shop instead of yelling in the FM entrance trying to sell stuff.
You could also continue doing gs2 (Even though its hell). I know theres a some people who grind there until like 90+ then you can try soloing himes.
When I started out, I just did ghost ship 2 until 85 & then went to solo himes until 120, mainly because I can grind for longer than most people & I hate depending on people that train for ~30 minutes then dip. Especially if you can't even find a party like you're saying. I'm pretty sure I spent a collective of like 1 hour HSing people at wolfspiders then realized it's lame. If you have 3 ~ 4 hours dedicated each day, you should get some fatty gains & easily be on your way to funding your character you want through selling leech / leeching yourself after you've gotten your funds. You will also eventually be getting drops (instead of being an HS mule) then mystic dooring & NPCing what junk drops you got, which adds up pretty fast. Also drops at himes add up pretty quick in terms of the scrolls they drop. To fix your FM issues, just get a shop for 10k NX & continue what you're doing except put the stuff you're selling in your shop while you train.
I had this issue too but I easily fixed it by simply changing my compatibility settings in the properties for the mapleroyals.exe file. Normally, I run with compatibility set to Windows 98/ME, but for APQ, I always switch it to Windows 7 compatibility and it runs extremely smooth. I never have to restart my client after each APQ once it's set to that compatibility. You could try fiddling around with other compatibility settings if Windows 7 doesn't work for you. P.S I'm assuming you're on Windows and not Mac, as I'm not sure if Mac users face this issue, nor do I know how it could be fixed.
I run on Windows 7, and I relog before every entry and yet I still lag ridiculously, to the point where I am useless. I tried Himes yet I don't think I was high enough level, I was about 81 or so and I used 100 50% pots and gained 5%, wasn't efficient at all.
Yeah you are going to wanna roll out there once you're 85+ obviously banging those levels out at ghost ship 2, with probably 4k+ ginger ales. You're gonna burn through potions like a mad man, but you'll make back way more than you spend on those potions.
hmm... I remember solo training in himes at lvl 82 ish when I was still a priest until lvl 95 before I could leech exp. I used wizard elixers and chocolate things from valentine's event that +20 mattk with half-elixers (later on ginger ales) and I was getting 40%/20mins (I think so, can't really remember). I spent alot upgrading my mid-game gears (very bad mistake) so I dealt decent damage. Training in himes do expend potions very fast, and you really need to gauge and adjust your pet's auto potion properly. Which is why I won't recommend training in himes unless you have decent gears. Although the exp/hour is really good. By now you should have some savings, from gs2/gs5 eqs sale or gacha, you should spend them wisely to upgrade your mid-game gears moderately, but not entirely. I don't know what's the state of your current gears so I won't comment on that. If you're thinking of funding a hp-washed archer at this stage of your game, I can tell you confidently that is not happening unless you manage to win something really really godly in gach. Otherwise, I guess the saying is "set a realistic goal and work towards it". oh, I should have mentioned this, but farming at coolie is decent way to make money for a priest too. I remember making 40m/hr at coolie, but that was lvl 10x with maxed mystic door and shining ray (and back then teeth were 400k per stack xD). Getting a godly thief top/bottom =
I just sell all my equips to NPC. Think I've only got one godly item worth selling which was accidentally sold to an NPC anyway... Besides, not having a shop and not knowing prices makes it impossible to sell anything. Regarding my gear, I have +24 INT from equips, without a zhelm and +18 m/att from armour with a 98 m/att Ele Wand 2. Nothing amazing therefore unable to survive himes efficiently. I understand my goal of HP washing a BM isn't going to happen over night which is why I won't even touch that character till I have enough (10-20b). I tried Voodoo's for a while which was okay however the exp wasn't great which is what I'm looking for to level up.
If you don't mind making another character, an arch mage would be great alternative to get you going again. Your priest is still low enough level to serve as a HS mule at Ulu 1 and onwards and AMs and especially F/Ps have a super easy 3rd job grind. An AM + HS mule is a great combo and you can always leech your priest to level 120 later.
I agree with Matty. It's would be efficient to make a second character and use your priest as a HS mule. My first character is my Dark Knight. My second character is my Bishop. I made my Bishop when my Dark Knight was a Lv 8x Dragon Knight because I realized you would train faster with 2 characters due to Holy Symbol. I would just use my Bishop as a HS mule and my Dark Knight would gain more exp than it would soloing. Once my Bishop obtained Genesis, I could just leech my Dark Knight.
When I hit that 80's wall on my priest, I took a break from levelling bc it simply wasn't efficient and I focused on making some money to (sadly) buy leech for those levels. I did gachapon in NLC and Shrine a lot and sold what I got. Gach and hope, sell to get 300mil (hope you get a CS or WS lol) Get to 85 so you can leech at wolf spiders. Assuming you're getting 200% (lowballing here) at 45mil per hour, it's still less than 300mil to get to 95 where you can safely party with someone at Himes. Once you hit 100 ish on a priest, soloing Himes isn't THAT bad. I grinded it out the last 25 levels solo at Himes in windowed mode while I watched a show on another window. It takes 10 years to get to 120 from 85 but itll be very worth it because you'll blaze past the 120s in under a week. Good luck!
