Just wanted to do this quick feedback post because i have an issue regarding the boss. The boss is constantly moving around and then getting pushed back again. The channels fill up quick and the HP of the boss goes down quick too. Ranged classes have more luck getting a clear than melee, the Priest has Holy Arrow as a skill but for some reason we cant use that skill? The halloween event was just fine using the holy arrow, why deactivating it for this one?
As a warrior, can we make stance, power guard and blast useable too? Joking aside no ability can be used, so why make an exception for one class? Just equip a fruit knife and it's very easy to get enough contribution.
Sure, we can bring those in there too then. No ability can be used but why was a 2nd Job skill usable then in the Halloween event?
No idea why it was useable in halloween boss or if other skills were, but for most event bosses skills cannot be used. In my understanding this is especially so that it fair between classes, otherwise slow attacking classes would not be able to contribute compared to shadowers and the likes.
2nd job mage arrows were added to help mages out. I'd honestly be okay with giving warriors stance too in it. It was added because as it currently is, it's not fair - pirates, archers, and thieves can all use ranged weapons which means they worry much less about knockback and staying within range of the boss. Mages and warriors are stuck at melee range. Not all skills should be allowed, but a few select ones to help even the field is good (or provide a claw for everyone like anni and xmas do)
Ah ok that makes some sense. But why holy arrow and not just energy bolt which all mages have? It does sound fair to give other classes some help, too bad 1st/2nd job warriors don't have a universal skill that would be useful except maybe booster? But most warriors will be using a fruit knife anyway. Stance or blast would be nice but that's still only for 4th job.
something that i just learned is that archers have a passive skill to do knockback, which is kind of ironic because its still a skill which is passive but still used, which is kind of annoying when you constantly have to walk back up again.
It was all of the 2nd job arrow skills so each mage had something iirc, it's just people don't play archmages so you likely didn't hear about it. And yeah warriors don't have much, but stance is still better than nothing I guess, even if it is 4th job
It was energy bolt, holy arrow and thunderbolt that was available to mages, I don't think FP had any skill they can use in 2nd job (I didn't see any fire arrows tbh) Also looking at pierre being lv 50 with 10 avoid VS valentine bosses being lv 10 with 1 avoid (snowman B3 seems to be lv 60 but 0 avoid), lowbie mages would be hitting misses on pierre had they not use magic attacks. That's not a skill, it's on the bow/xbow weapon itself, one of the only two/three types of weapon that comes with special effects (the other being elemental staff/wands) To be on topic, i've been running warriors for Vday bosses, even in ch1, I'm really not having any issue getting my hits in and clearing.
Just adding my 2c why certain event bosses are fine as is, Anniversary cake - all classes have access to the fork, which is a claw that allows you to throw cakes, everyone is a sin (minus the range) Pierre - Mages get single target attk (energy bolt), Pierre also chases players so it is easier for melee as well Snowman - never done it cos I don't like the slip mechanics, but IIRC, you get to throw snowballs Valentines - Can use spear, but in all honesty, I would like to see warrior hits dialed down to 100 (from 150) and mages allowed to use bolt. Although I'd like to caveat I think xmas tree works fine for all classes
