Well. Just a heads-up to MAC users. El Capitan update will alter the way wineskin work, if updated may have to stick with just parallel or bootcamp. Anybody have any solution for running the MAC client of El Capitan? I keep getting the error of Application X11 could not be opened, "Failed to activate core devices".
1. Restart the computer, while booting hold down Command-R to boot into recovery mode. 2. Once booted, navigate to the "Utilities > Terminal" in the top menu bar. 3. Enter "csrutil disable" (no quote) in the terminal window and hit the return key. 4. Restart the machine and System Integrity Protection will now be disabled. 5. To reenable System Integrity Protection follow the steps above, except use the csrutil enable command for step 3. (Worked for me afterwards, don't do step 5 unless you wanna ever redo the command)
I'm going to sticky this topic. I didn't realize Wineskin broke on El Capitan as I had already disabled SIP for another reason. This is all you should need to do on El Capitan if your Wineskin wrapper stops working.
Found a workaround as toggling root did not work for me. Installing xQuartz, and toggling wineskin to launch through xQuartz works for me.
@Mochi You can refer to this. I follow this guide: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=100956 Treat Winebox as Mapleroyal client
For me it doesnt work i did follow this guide now i have the problem that it opens x11 and then nothing happens?
I managed to do it without toggling SIP and xQuartz. 1) Right click on client.app > show package contents > wineskin.app > advanced > tools 2) Update wrapper to 2.6.1. Mine was 2.5.9, i had to go to 2.6.0 first, it didn't allow me to go higher. Quit wineskin.app or something, I can't remember. Try to update again, it should allow you update to 2.6.1. If it doesn't, restart your computer and attempt the update to 2.6.1 3) I'm not sure if the following steps need to be done. Anyway, after getting to 2.6.1, update the engine. For this, I downloaded wineskine winnery to download the engine WS9Wine1.7.52. Get the winery app from their official site, use your favourite web search. 4) Back to advanced tools, i.e. Right click on client.app > show package contents > wineskin.app > advanced > tools > this time, change the engine. I'm on WS9Wine1.7.52. It worked for me. Running now on El Capitan.
How did you update the wrapper? I'm at tools but I don't see any update button except "Update Wrapper" but its not allowing me to do that.
Using the xQuartz method, is it possible for the game to be made full screen? Been fiddling around with the options, no success.
Just updated my mac os to el capitan. restarted and redownloaded the client and follow your steps but still i cant get to maple royals login page. It says client cant be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
Unidentified developer error can be solved in your settings. This happens to any applications downloaded outside the app store!
