My friend has Windows 10 on his desktop and can't get Maple working at all. When he launches the game, nothing happens at all. No error messages, no anything.

    Things he's tried:
    • Shutting down virus scans and all regular programs (Like Discord, Steam, etc.)
    • Reinstalling the game
    • Trying the manual install instead of the main ones
    • Trying just about every compatibility mode option from the list and running as admin
    We're both out of ideas.
Is there anything else he can do?

Restarting your pc (or your friends in this instance) has done wonders for this issue. I have heard that nothing pops up after trying to load it up even if there's nothing in the task manager. Try that before doing anything drastic.

The only thing I can think of is that your friend's windows defender or anti-virus somehow intercepted his game when trying to download it. In case that it may have been windows defender Try this:

    1. Uninstall the game.
    2. Turn off windows defender and antivirus.
    3. Re-install the game.
    4. Add the MapleRoyals folder as an exception
    5. Turn defender and antivirus back on if you wish to do so
    6. Start the game.

Just to clarify if what I said above doesn't work, NOTHING is popping up, correct?

Just to state that what Charlie is saying has worked for me in the past.

If literally nothing is popping up I would have to agree that it has to do with your Anti-virus or Windows Defender. I have Symantec Virus Protection, and without fail, every single time I update Royals it deletes the .Exe's from the folder making the game unrunable. No matter how many times I put an exception on the Folder, or any of the stuff in it, I swear Symantec finds a way to ignore my settings and delete things anyways. I usually wind up having to put Symantec into sleep mode temporarily to install Royals and take it out of Sleep Mode once its complete.

Unfortunately its still not working after following the steps and advice.
He's been working on it for quite a while and there's never any change.

Oh well. Guess he won't be able to play :( thanks anyway.
