[MapleRoyals] Official Damage Range Thread - Legacy

As a drk who aims to be top tier i was a little upset at 1st too,but @Shnang pointed it rigth that this is is a range thread,not a power one.
and ive seen sparky using that faltizan....sooooo, if hes using it,its legit to me...and he becomes my new beating goal

 

I will have higher range with perfect Dragon Shiner Cross

 

Irrelevant argument, as you cannot use hurricane (a bowmaster’s main attacking skill) with a crossbow.

 

I thought we were just talking about how to show the highest range we can, instead of highest damage we can actually deal.

 

This is my final reply on this thread as we are digressing into immature bickering but clearly you have limited insight into the purpose of this thread.

It is labelled as a damage range thread because it serves at a benchmark for players who wish to compare themselves to others and their gears on the server. In the same way that you wouldn’t use a dragon shiner crossbow as a bowmaster when you go on boss runs with others or yourself, you shouldn’t expect to post your damage range with a weapon that you cannot utilise your core skills with on this thread.

If you feel comfortable with labelling sharp eyes as your only core skill on your level 200 BM then I take what I said back and wish you the best of luck in finding yourself HT/Auf/what have you runs as an unwashed BM that uses SE and strafe only.

I have no issues with sparky posting his range with a perfect faltizan because he can use that in his day to day activities on his dark knight and his range is reflective of his damage.

 

you guys need to chill more, nothing is going to change even if you are at the top of the range charts

I didn't even feel that I was bickering with anyone, neither did I say I would post my range with Crossbow.

 

In the meantime I update my range here, and yes it's a BOW!

Or just apply common sense and make a sub category for the ranges with specific endgame* weapons (1h vs 2h vs BW for example). I mean it's not like we have dozens of examples in GMS forums over the last 15 years or something.

EDIT: Clarified end game weapons as not to create a ridiculous argument about "WeLl tOo MuCh WeApOn DiVeRsItY".

Micromanaging verification of ranges with screenshots/videos? NO PROBLEM.

Adding literally 6 sub categories for warriors where literally 3 of them are essentially non-existent, ToO mUcH eFfOrT. Hell you could just do a sub category just for sky ski's. Like honestly it's puzzling you didn't do it from the get go since every thread from basilmarket/sleepywood has been doing this forever.

But yeah, arguing the semantics of damage (which in game is attack range, which most people refer to as range, not "damage range".) that is by far more productive.

 

there have been some really good points raised here (by both sides), but please bear in mind that @Shnang is still the thread owner, and thus, the rules implemented here are ultimately up to his discretion. nevertheless, i know for a fact that he's a reasonable person and will always be open to feedback (maybe a more appropriate place would be the Feedback section?)

since this is fundamentally a community thread, anyone is free to disagree with how things are currently being done. however, perhaps it'd be a more constructive discussion for all of us if the suggestions made could be more concrete and specific (some users have already set us in the right direction in their posts above)
e.g. we think ___ should or should not be included because ___, and the way we propose to validate that is to add ___ rule(s)

alternatively, anyone is free to start their own thread as well!

so can i ask that everyone please keep their comments as civil and respectful as possible, without resorting to sarcasm or disparaging remarks towards anyone else. it takes a lot of time and effort to maintain community initiatives like these, and they should really be treated in good fun, not dampened by the details
