MapleRoyals on Steam Deck (partial progress)

Hey all,

It's been my dream ever since I've played MapleStory back when it was first launched to play this game "on something mobile". With the release of the Steam Deck I think this might give us the perfect opportunity to accomplish this goal.

I have already gotten MapleRoyals to run but haven't been able to play it using the Steam Deck's built in controls, so hopefully we can make this a community effort to get this working.

Anyway, what I've done is basically follow this guide but then install MapleRoyals rather then League of Legends:



I could get MapleRoyals to launch in desktop mode, (by default it only worked on my external monitor, but if I create a virtual display in Bottles it also works in desktop mode).

My issues are though:

1. I can't get MapleRoyals to launch from Steam
2. I can't get MapleRoyals to play in full screen
3. I can't get the integrated steam controller to work

 

Were you ever able to get this working at 100%?

 

Nope I wasn't but it's quite easy to get started, so maybe you can give it a try too

I actually managed to get it fully playable on the deck! Took me quite sometime to figure it out, but worth the effort. It works literally perfectly, and with all the added buttons of the deck, not a single hotkey is missed.

 

Might give this a go!
