Hello everyone~ This is my first post here and I thought I'd share something I'm attempting to do, to further appreciate all that mapleroyals has to offer. I know the 'Ironman challenge' has already been discussed and is already a thing a handful of people do, but I wanted to attempt yet another challenge from the OSRS world and bring it into mapleroyals, the 'Tileman challenge'. If you're not aware of what the tileman challenge is, essentially on OSRS you'd have to hit a certain amount of exp before you unlock a "tile" (or really a movement space), which really restricts your movement throughout the game and makes you have to think a few steps ahead. Now I don't believe that's possible for MapleRoyals, but I do have a different spin on the challenge replacing "tiles" with portals and exp thresholds with monster book cards! Rules of the MapleRoyals Tileman Challenge: Following all typical ironman challenge rules (No trading, no buy/selling from player shops, no partying, no PQs, no loot share, etc) You can only use a portal to the next map after you obtain a monster book card of any monster (Once you unlock a map, it's unlocked forever) You can only fast travel to towns you've been to before, meaning you'll need to walk there first Regarding towns, all portals within a town also need a monster book card to unlock (you'll need to decide what shops, sections of towns, etc. is worth it to unlock!) The boat ride from maple island to linth harbor needs to be unlocked with a card. (Right Around Linth Harbor map can be accessed without unlocking due to potential soft-lock) Going to Orbis, Japan, Amoria, etc. for the first time will also require a monster book card to unlock the boat/trip for the first time. After that, all portals continue needing to be unlocked. Mystery dungeons don't count as portals (i.e. If you unlock Victoria Road 3-Way Road-Split, you also unlock Beach Hunting Ground/The Pig Beach) Community event maps/any jump quest maps are excluded from needing to be unlocked If you enter a new map that you have the full set (5 cards) of EVERY monster that spawns in that map, you can move on to the next map Duplicate cards still count towards unlocking portals If you manage to complete the entire monster book, the world is your oyster! This should postpone when you leave maple island, when you job advance, how you complete quests, etc. Wanting to hear thoughts/opinions on this challenge and if there's anything else that needs to be added/clarified!
