MapleRoyals Voting System and You

Hello everyone... As I was about to vote I noticed something which may be problematic to some of you...

Now, as you know we are allowed to vote once per day... this is great, but the problem is that it's not based on the Gtop reset, but a 24 hour reset through mapleroyals website vote button, which is, essentially almost the same thing.

The thing is, people login at various times, sometimes you have to study or work, and you vote at a different time each day, so if you vote a bit later, you need to wait longer.

I think it should reset at 7pm eastern through the website, same way as it does on gtop100, because this way even if you voted the previous day a few hours later, you don't need to wait until after that hour to vote.

I don't know how to explain it better, but I think, every 24 hours there should be a reset time, based on gtop's same time of reset, and not a timer on the website.

This does not break any rules, because you are still voting once a day, but the thing is... you always know it resets at 7pm est.

@Tim What do you think? I don't know much about forums but maybe this would be really easy to code into the website.

Additionally, even without the timer, gtop100 says you voted already so I don't see a problem??

Allthough I am +1 ST, therefor its very easy for me to "vote before going to bed."
Therefor I might be fairy biased.

However I think its not a good idea to shift this timer.
Currently, its actually hard not to vote-abuse. Especcialy if you have more accounts that all need some nx once in a while. Especcially if you're like me and forget in about 30 minutes if you had voted or not. And if I did, let alone remember wich account I voted with.
As basically everything on the server resets based on the server timer. I think its very valuable to be consistent as much as possible.

For my own sake, please no.
For consistency sake, think it's not a great idea.

 

It is once every 24h, so why does it matter when it resets? The time of reset has absolutely no impact on the time you vote since you can do it literally once every 24h, the timer is simply put to 24h .. you know, like 24h ... last time I checked it takes the same 24h for everywhere on the globe. Except buissiness meetings, everyone knows they follow their own schedules.

 

It's just because I feel I need to wait an extra time after voting on the next day, are you sure our timer isn't a few minutes past 24h cause that would be the only other thing that could explain it.

 

Royals time doesn’t change, it’s your time that changed because of day light savings. There are other parts of the world where they don’t have day light savings either.
