Hello everyone, As the title suggests, I'd really like to know the differences between marksman and bowmaster. I do know bowmasters have hurricane and are way more popular. How do you they hold up against each other in bossing and mobbing? How about the damage output? Everything you can give me between the two is welcome! And also, is HP washing really a necessity for them? I'm only mediocre-funded and this will be my only (and sort of first) character I'm gonna play. A big thanks to everyone willing to share his/her knowledge with me in advance --------- oh and ps: I'm sorry if there are already threads like this, but I did a quick search and most seemed outdated or not really what I was looking for, a google search is also really hard since pre-big bang information is harder and harder to come by.
Im also intrested in the sience behind this. On the hp wash part, if you cant afford washes you could also choose to blood wash a x ammount of ap into hp. This will lower your endgame attack but its free.
SE is a special class that can wash hp until very high level without buying a lot leech. I started to play BM as my first character and managed to wash to 18k Hp at level 180. Bowmaster can do higher damage with godly gears than Marksman, since hurricane is tightly related to your range. On the other hand marksman does more damage with entry level gears since snipe always does the same damage.
Let me answer this in parts. Following my experience and also some thread as well, bowmasters and marksman are both a support DPS (damage per seconds) class. That's mean, we provive a big help at the moment we attack X boss. Unfortunally there's not a perfect class (no, night lords aren't perfect) so of course there's will be some negatives stuffs like: Bowmasters use Hurricane to focus on 1 mob at the time, so we're a pure boss class. Marksmans focus more on mobing, since this one at 4th job have Piercing arrow, wish for mobing its okay. Also the attack of both deppend on you gear but marksman focus more on levels since the % skill its already good. HP washing itsn't necesary but it its if you wan't a potential gameplay. With 10k you should be good. I really think you should go for what ever you fell good, since as support dosn't natter what do you choose, since all runs in general need "Sharp eyes" in order to do more damage (like those weaks night lords). Just don't be a dumb ass calling youself "SE", we're a main character, not mules. Also talking about funded, its already hard for a bownaster, but markman in generall have a balance price on what items they mean c: Good luck !
