Just a simple thread about mediation. I've been doing it for a few months and its pretty awesome, but I've been slacking a bit in it and want to know if I should get even more seriously involved with it or not. If you care to share, please share your experience with meditation and how its helped you out or made things worse in life. Also, what kind of meditation do you do? I want you all to teach me some things! ;-) ...Or, for those who haven't meditated, tell me why you think you should try it or why you think its pointless. :-D Also, if you can, please try to keep the religious portion out of the discussion. Appreciate it! So I'll begin with my 3 months of experience: ---In the past, I've would always goof around in my gym class about meditation (which was included in the class) back in 10th grade, and I would always just fall asleep instead, thinking mediation is a big joke. Now that I'm older and face various stresses personally and work related, I needed a solution to help me "not get so angry as the simple things". So I tried mediation, did tons and tons of research on it, different types, and I'm loving it. Doing it twice a day, for 20 minutes each session, I would focus on my natural breathing through my nose and "clear" my mind. Afterwards, I couldn't stop smiling, it was weird, its like my brain triggered a new perspective on life, I felt emotionally bullet proof. This led me to really want to eat better, work out better and just be happy. Crazy stuff man! Problem is, people at my work think I'm a big weirdo for doing meditation and talking about it haha, so I only could get one friend into it, and he loves it.--- Your turn!
