The limit seems to be lifted, but if you go over the set amount (I'm pretty sure), the shop will be impossible to get into whether you're the owner or a shopper and immediately disconnects you.
When I setup my store today, I discovered I could put in more than 16 items. This is unusual because the merchant will usually prompt you that you "cannot place any more items" upon adding the 17th item. However, any item placed after the 16th would be unclickable. This would also explain why some players may have had unclickable items in their store, which I encountered before. It's a minor bug but I thought it'll be better if it was posted.
I don't remember, I just did the usual (open a store and placed in my items). This has never happened to me before, since usually I am lazy to count how many items I put and just toss stuff in till the prompt appears. So I'd say for now that it occurs randomly, since I'm not sure how to replicate it.
This seems really similar to the other glitch where when you click on a person, you D/C. As I was browsing the FM, I clicked on a shop and d/cd. This has happened to me around 3 times so far. Not sure if other people are having the problem.
I've seen a few shops that are affected by that. Most of the time the owner doesnt even know it happens. I tend to do ~gm and explain that there's a glitched shop that d/cs you when you click it. Annie took care of it once and thanked me, so I take it they don't mind/they appreciate the report.
Hey folks, When you open your merchant and are listing your items (but before clicking the button that says OPEN STORE), I think if you limit the items that you list for sale to the same limit as that of the store, it will be fine. What I believe is causing the item limit to be exceeded is that players are putting in items (for example, 17 which exceeds the limit) before pressing the OPEN STORE button. This is also the same way that stores become overlapped on top of each other. Normally in order to snag the earlier FM spots right after a reset, most players will only list 1 item and then open store to ensure another player can't start setting up. This is normally what I do with my store, but today I wasn't in a hurry and noticed I exceeded the limit. I've yet to replicate the problem because I don't want to go through the hassle of setting up shop again, but I'm fairly confident this is a potential cause for the bug. Thanks for reading, TLR. To avoid exceeding the item limit and dc'ing people, press the OPEN STORE button before putting in all your items, and add the rest after.
Sounds plausible, especially when you consider that there are usually more bugged shops in the higher FMs, where people are more likely to be able to set up their shops in one go rather than racing to open.
I'm experiencing a similar problem. Right now my shop is open but whenever i try to click on it to edit the contents the client will just close completely. I think now anyone that clicks on my shop will d/c
Yes, if a GM is available, they will close a shop that is dcing people, so do ~gm and let them know which shop it is and where it's located.
