Hey, so I just recently got to 4th job and I'm trying to unlock meteor shower. So far I've talked to the third job instructor (Robeira), then wiz the librarian, then grendel who just tells me "Alright, now take this to Robeira." but he doesn't give me anything. I've gone back to el nath and there is no quest available with Robeira and the only quest available for Shammos is "Shammos' Request" (which I believe is unrelated to the meteor shower prequest). Does anybody know what I'm missing or doing wrong? I've gone back and forth to every npc in question at least 3 times already and can't find what I'm missing.
I have never done the quest myself but there shouldn't be any problems with the quest. Stole it from Ayumilove's guides: https://ayumilovemaple.wordpress.com/2008/09/17/dummies-guide-to-magician-4th-job-skill-book-quest/ Fire/Poison Mage Meteor: Head to your 3rd job instructor to begin the quest Travel to Korean Folk Town and talk to Librarian Wiz Then head over to your 1st job instructor Next , go to the Goblin in El Nath Go back to your 1st job instructor After that, go back to the Goblin again Talk to your 3rd job instructor After that, talk to Shammos. He will ask you for the “Eye of Fire” (Yes, the same one you use to summon Zakum) Once you collected the Eye of fire head back to the goblin to complete the quest
Thanks for replying, but that's the guide I was following while doing this. I've done everything the guide says as far as I can tell and I think the problem is either the item is not being given or the quest might not be registering. I've had this problem with another quest before where I got the nependeath juice but the quest wouldn't allow me to trade it for a bone helm. (Apparently that bone helm quest used to work but not anymore) so I'm thinking that might be what's going on here.
Wow I'm blind haha, I found out what I was missing. When I talked to Wiz there is the initial quest that I completed just from talking to him (which I thought was the meteor shower prequest), but I didn't know I had to also initiate the story of a magician from a long list of other stuff before talking to Grendel.
