So i've read the rules that have been stated in this thread. http://www.royals.ms/forum/threads/boss-rewarp-policy-clarification.21282/ The third point which says I received this error while bossing on Sweep causing me to disconnect and i was told that it doesn't qualify for a rewarp. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this error similar to the Invalid Pointer disconnection due to the way the current source is coded? It definitely has been frustrating over the last week with the constant lag spikes, as i'm sure Mike, Tim, and Jen know. They've been warping me quite a lot and to disconnect from a lag spike and then be disconnected again from an error that is out of my control makes it difficult to ppl2pass.
At least in my experience, that particular error only shows up with the puppet glitch, or when there's a particular problem with my internet connection. The first case would be cause for a rewarp, but I dont think it's possible to trigger that glitch at krexel. The second would be the same as a GFX crash, on the player's end so it's not rewarp-worthy. Does anyone else get the C++ runtime error under different circumstances than those?
I have randomly gotten the error from using hurricane/puppet as jmmainvi has said but it has never happened during a boss run which is why there haven't been any posts about this.
The point that you reference is aimed towards players that attempt to break the reactor to summon Krexel improperly, which occasionally causes mass disconnects on the map and requires GM intervention to fix, as well as the server Fastattack disconnect that happens occasionally, mainly to Corsairs and Bowmasters. C++ Runtime errors are not server-related glitches, but rather an error with your own computer being unable to properly process the game, which is why they're not a reason that we warp players.
Hmm, I wonder if Matt would hire a warp slave. I think cases like this are valid, he should've received a warp back into the map.
