    Original thread: http://royals.ms/forum/threads/mapleroyals-shuts-off-without-warning.29574/

"Okay, so I'm well-acquainted with MR's server booting and of firewall's refusing to open it,
but what's happening on my sister's computer is very odd. She has MR on her 'exceptions'
on her firewall/antivirus, but randomly after about 5 minutes of play, MR just shuts off.
No warning, no error message, no 'Sorry, we cannot connect to server', no 'This program
might be harmful, blah blah blah..', nothing at all! It just completely closes and returns
her to her desktop. I feel like that may be her computer doing something, but I don't know
what since it's allowing MR to open in the first place? Any ideas?"

Since posting, we've reinstalled MR, added it to the "allow" list on her firewall, and checked
her antivirus to make sure it's still in "allow" and not quarantined. Her OS is 8.1 Windows
and her antivirus is Webroot. Any other suggestions we should try to get it to stop closing
out ever 1-5 minutes of gameplay? :(

Oh! And her computer is an ASUS, which has 6GB of space left on it so that's definitely not the problem.

Her computer can play games on Steam (Saints Row, L4D, etc..) so it must be something specifically between her computer and MR..

Have you kept the anti-malware disabled while her client is running?

Before you try this below, have you tried to close your Chrome?

Otherwise, you could try resetting TCP/IP settings.

Click Start and then click Run.
    Type cmd.
At the command prompt, type the following command and then press ENTER:
    • netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Note: If you do not want to specify a directory path for the log file, use the following command:
    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

    Reboot the computer.

Note: You may need to run Network Diagnostics afterwards to "repair" your connection after this.

Try Right clicking on the .exe file and running it in "Compatibility Mode" with an earlier version of Windows. I had a similar issue with MR closing randomly, changed that setting at it typically runs fine now. That may help.

Have you even tried completely disable both the firewall and antivirus?

    I had the same issue
Tell your friend to shut off webroot completely. Have them right click the icon, then click shut down.
