Hi everyone, I’m writing this for my friend, not for myself. We both came back to MapleRoyals about three weeks ago after many years away (we used to laugh about how bad we were back then). Now we’re both level 70, and while I’m still having fun, he’s starting to lose motivation. The problem is mesos. At first, I supported him with about 500m just so he could keep playing, but now I’m out of funds and we’re basically broke. We keep trying to improve items and sell them – we actually managed to succeed twice – but it only gave us 20–30m profit, which doesn’t go far at this stage. On top of that, his gachapon luck has been really unlucky. He’s not lazy at all, he plays actively and really wants to progress, but it’s tough watching him get discouraged when all his effort doesn’t translate into progress. I’m not asking for anything for myself – only for him. If anyone has advice, support, or even some spare mesos/items to help him out, it could make a big difference and maybe keep him from quitting. Thanks a lot in advance for reading and for any help
A. Instead of gacha, sell ap resets. B. Don't worry about gear for now, it doesn't matter anyway. C. You can get mesos by doing apq 4 times a day and selling the apples.
Set the bar lower and temper any expectations. This game requires an immense amount of time. If you set your goals too high or far out it's going to feel daunting or unachievable. If the goal is making mesos that will probably result in burning out real quick because it requires a lot of effort to get to a point where you can make it consistently. Instead I would focus on small, achievable goals like hitting certain level milestones or doing certain content. Finding people who are doing the same content and are willing to help will make your time more enjoyable as well. Treat any influx of mesos from voting, gaching, selling APRs as a bonus or bank it towards an upgrade later on, but really your gear isn't going to matter too much starting out. If your goal is to boss eventually you should farm Orbis PQ for the 13 attack gloves as this is an excellent budget upgrade. From there you can slowly acquire gear as you level towards 135 where you can start bossing for experience. It really just depends on how much time you want to sink into it and how much you enjoy the game. Just know that it can be very grindy. This is based on an original MMORPG and even with increased rates the model for the game was centered around playing for hours, and hours, and hours. An example of this is Amoria PQ like the person above stated. Onyx apples are pretty much a requirement to boss and Amoria PQ takes about 30-45 minutes to get an average of around 8-10 apples. Zakum and Krex will take you about 2 apples per run and most people run twice back to back. Your time investment without buying apples is already at minimum 30 minutes for APQ and then around 30-45 minutes for two runs of Zakum or Krex. Not counting the time it takes to form parties. You see where I am going with this? Not trying to make a case for not playing, but it just takes a lot of actual time and patience.
Don't compare yourself to others. Set expectations for yourself and be realistic. Most players have been playing for years and many aren't casuals either. You can do pretty much all content comfortably with less than 2b worth of gear and apples.
you guys are just gambling. try to keep leveling so you can get stronger and do more content. at level 70 you can still get multiple levels per hour
