My thoughts

It's bound to come out soon, so I figure I might as well say something. About 2 days ago I caught GM Sascha giving his normal Character "thor" Gachapon tickets. Matt "handled" it, deciding he would stay a GM after the illegitimate items were removed. I took matters into my own hand and threatened Sascha the day after.

You see, I had thought his GM character should've been deleted, and his normal character banned or erased. Due to my threat I've received a demotion and a 3 day ban. I realize this thread will probably be removed by someone, but I wanted to go ahead and tell you guys.

Now to be fair, I had teleported Danerys to Wolf Spiders the day before, which constituted as abuse, Matt had warned me about my unprofessional attitude and apparently this threat was the last straw. Again, I'm not trying to ruin anyone with this post, I just think people deserve to know what happened. I'm going to make this a poll in the best interest of the community.

Sucks that the only GM that I have personally seen, actively, try to throw events and give players a good time, outside of content and grinding, is demoted for being a bit rash with his actions. Mistakes were made, Sascha fucked up, Alex was heated, punishment on Sascha seems too light, while the punishment on Alex seems too severe. Just my two cents.

 

It's quite simple. Both GMs involved (Sascha & Alex) violated server rules. Each were given a warning. Alex then violated another server rule subsequent to his warning, which is why he was temp banned for 3 days in accordance to server rules. As a result of his ban, his GM privileges were revoked. I don't think everyone necessarily understands that Sascha was not let off free just because he apologized. There were penalties for both parties.

 

Confused...

I think this entire post shows unprofessionalism from the staff. First off, publishing internal problems to the community isn't going to help anyone out. Second off, if the staff are the people who need watching, where does that leave the server and it's trustworthiness?

 

So are all server violations, regardless of the severity, treated equally. Because, I, for one, believe that feeding a normal char with gach tickets is a worse violation than warping a player, especially to a map like WS (not like it was Zak).

 

imo: sascha got a light slap on the wrist lol, as much as i like him his punishment shouldve been more. giving your non gm character items is just ridiculous tbh. worse than warping + heat of the moment threatening combined

alex was iffy to me from the start way too adhd for the role of a gm. what matt gets for hiring people who have no connection to the server, and hasnt been around for very long.


ill repeat it, i like sascha as a person and gm far more. i dont like alex and find him annoying, but regardless the punishments were way off.

then again it is matts server and ty said it right, he does what he wants.

No hugely strong opinions because it's not really my business. As long as Sascha apologized, EVERYTHING was taken away, and he never does it again I'm ok with his standing (although I admit I am a bit biased as I consider Sascha my friend). As for Alex, punishment does seem a bit severe? I would've though perhaps a probationary period or something, but a complete demotion and 3 day ban? I think we need to look at WHY he was so heated. If he had talked like this to Sascha about something else I'd support your actions, but he said what he did out of care for the server.

I just think that because Alex was acting out of concern for the server's well-being, the response was a bit too harsh.

 

Just adding to the conversation about GMs.
Adding to this conversation, all APQ items were not taken away from matt, (all of chris's items). I don't know if this was intentional, but i don't think GMs should have advantages.

OK. Here's what I think after reading everything. This is ridiculous.

IF Alex truly did threaten Sascha two days after the problem was dealt with, I guess that was a BIT wrong but getting demoted and temp banned seems a way too harsh.

I personally think abusing GM powers to give your legit character something is SOOOO much worse than what Alex did. And even though you said that all items were removed, there is a possibility that this is not the first time this has been done. I can't help being suspicious and I'm sure that many others feel the same way.

It's not fair if Alex gets demoted for what he did but Sascha lives on happily for what he did imo.

Nothing personal. I like both of you GM's equally. I could care less if both of you get banned or if both of you stay but I'm just saying what I think is fair in the situation. Please don't be offended.
