This has bothered me for a while, and I've finally decided to make a post about it.

The orange [n] tag for new posts doesn't disappear for Inbox conversations like it does on threads. Instead it just unbolds the title and pushes the [n] back a bit. It'd be nice and less confusing if this could be fixed =]

That's because they're different buttons. For threads, the button goes to the last unread post, whereas for conversations the button marks the conversation as unread (in case you need to remember to check something later, say). In both cases the tooltip that appears when you hover your mouse over the buttons indicate their function.

The small icon moving a bit when being clicked is a mistake and has now been resolved.

In the default XenForo theme, the small icon in front of threads and discussions is an anonymous little blue dot. We decided to have a cheerful little N instead, indicating new, which of course makes less sense for the mark as unread functionality. I'm not a designer, but if someone would like to make a new tiny little icon for the conversations, I'd be happy to change it!

Can the button have two states? For example, can the N be grey for conversations that have been read?

I wonder if making the "n" button a pale blue for the light forum themes and a mid-dark grey for dark forum themes to indicate that a conversation has no new messages would work? Thoughts?

Sounds fine to me, but is the dark theme really even used? I personally don't like the color scheme for it, and it kinda hurts my eyes since the static forum background is still sky blue.

I recall someone asking for a dark background to go with the dark forum theme, so I think it is used.
