I just looked through the forum for older events, and noticed that we haven't had an event since february. Maybe it's time for a new one soon? Personally I find that the design events are the most fun, as it is interesting to see the different entries that members come up with. It's also a good way to let people be creative and contribute something to the server. It would be cool to have an event where you had to design a new hair or some clothing, but I can understand that it might me hard to create a back-view as well for those. So my suggestion is to have a event for creating a new NPC (that can be used for something new (maybe the new source have need of one?), or replace an old NPC) or an effect that can be sold in cash shop. It's always fun to see things that the community has contributed in the game! Thoughts/opinions?
I like the idea of designing a NX weapon, much like the one MapleSEA arranged in 2007 (Pepe Beak was the winner).
To be honest, designing an NPC that has animations and looks good and maple-like is still really hard. Same with weapons and especially clothes because if you don't have some kind of a program it would be hard to guess x-y positions. And this kind of event will fit people who are more experienced with pixels, it's not really like the chairs event that we had because here you need to create a new one instead of using ones that already exist. Don't get me wrong I totally love the idea of players help making new custom content to the server but I'm not sure how these, beside chairs, will fit. But what I do think is possibly better is players making a new map to each town in Victoria, or an extra FM room. It seems a bit better to me because here you can actually use already existing tools for your creativity and you can just totally go crazy with it. Just my two cents
I think the idea of designing an npc is great. It also isn't actually that hard, if you pay attention to it, most npcs in maple have only a few animations, like eye blinking or a mouth movement. But I also think this kind of event would make the most sense if they actually needed an npc for some special use.
