Hello all, I'm a new player to mapleroyals (but not maplestory) and looking for some advice/suggestions for some questions that have been bothering me. My Overall goal when joining this server was to make a Bowmaster because it's one of the few classes I've never really gotten to play... But along came the hurdles of HP Washing and Self Funding. From my reading I'll need the following before I can even make the character I want to play (not even counting gear) ~Calculated using HP Washing Calculator aiming for 9k HP by Lv150 1.) 166 INT (either from gears or pure ap) 2.) 256 AP resets (not including whatever ap resets are needed to remove INT) I've been reading a lot of the guides on the forum and trying to plan for my future on MapleRoyals. Right now I'm a lv48 Cleric which I was planning to level up to 120 and be a low-level leech seller to make funds for myself. But after reading further it seems that this will also take quite alot of money that could probably be otherwise used for a "Main" character instead? Especially when I see "cheap" Genesis 20 for 950m... I'm wondering is this even worth doing? Is this the best way? Is bishop worth the initial investment, oh wise and magnificent maple investment agents? Thanks alot for any opinions/advice.
First of all create bishop -while selling leech you also farming Bishop equip those equip can be used as INT gear such as Scrolled Maple shield , Glove, Earring and so on int gear help you cost saving later on Good luck
A better way (in my opinion) would be to make a FP mage + HS mule. Pros: 1. It is super cheap and fast to get to 120. If you are a grinder, you can avoid buying leech and do poison training(fastest grind method) up to 120. 2. Meteo is OP. At lvl130, equipped ONLY with a wand 5, you can 1 hit all popular leech places except for petris and skeles. 3. Easiest to reach required TMA to 1 hit premium leech spot(petris). Premium here means the highest leeching fees. 4. Cheapest skillbooks among the mage classes. 5. Spell booster(IL mages as well). Cons: 1. You need to make a HS mule. 2. Unable to sell SOME low level leech places(mainly gs). 3. Troublesome to sell low level leech places. Some maps(i.e wraiths) require you to cc in and out your mule. Some(WR and SB) you have to go in and out a portal. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Bishop is better as a mule to leech your own char/hs mule I think. While they can make money fast early they also cost a lot of money to upgrade (int items are very expensive, most expensive books in the games) You can also sell leech at like low lvl area but it barely gives you any exp and these maps have bad drops usually (like windraiders only have earring and shoes lol).
Okay! Thank you everyone for your help. I'm gonna stick w/ Bishop and probably just sell low level leeches. Getting INT gear to help w/ HP washing in the future is also a solid benefit . F/P sounds interesting but I think bishop will be easiest for me in the long run.
You might want to rethink while you still can. f/p is incredibly fast to level, for example I got 6 levels at level 80 in 1 hour. I got a bishop to 120 before I realized I rather make a f/p to make money with. Why? because books costs 1b or more and isnt a 100% guarantee to even work. Ontop of this you also need ALOT more int gear to even 1/2hit stuff (selling leech) and not to mention the incredibly tedious genesis quest compared to f/p's quest. (you want a zhelm regardless so it's nbd) Also, if you ever plan to grind a non-mage you'll want a HS mule anyway. The only bonus to being a bishop is leeching low level with ease, however that's never optimal exp to leech at low level. Ontop of this there's KPQ, LPQ into LMPQ to reach 3rd job and by then you're not far from ulu leeching with the hs mule. You're probably looking at a good month of intense grinding to get enough levels and TMA to 1hit anything decent on a bishop. Whilst the f/p can equip a elemental wand alongside their 150% bonus damage passive and just keep rolling with very little effort. In the end either choice works fine and gl to you
both have their advantages n disadvantages all advantages of fp you mention above but bishop although expensive but its invited to boss which not only HS but also ress...
Thats right there are probably more bonuses to being a bishop, too. I dont have experience with one since I stopped at 120 on mine (for now), i just researched f/p a lot the past few weeks so it may look biased. Also when i wrote everything I was only keeping one thing in mind and that's making money for a main which you will eventually play & boss on. I will never enter a boss aside from grabbing a zhelm on either my f/p or bishop for example. My final thought would probably go like so: If you have the time and patience go with bishop If you want to make money asap go with f/p anything else inbetween all comes down to preference. hs mule you probably want regardless of above choice. But again this is just my personal preference and it can be misleading information I always suggest you research things and dont take posts for granted to be safe @op, best of luck.
Fp/HS mule combo can generate a lot of funding compared to bishop, but like others said it might be troublesome if you do self low level leech because you want to keep your HS mule between lv 81 and 84 (85 will get exp from ulu2). However, I truly enjoy AM/HS combo enough I made both fp and il and 2 different HS mules =D
