So long story short, it's been about 6 to 7 years since I've invested myself in Maplestory time wise out of nostalgia. I'm currently 5 days in playing Mapleroyals and I've made a sin as my first character. Probably not the most ideal option but typically it is the class that I enjoyed most back in the day so my mindset is fairly open in terms of difficulty. That being said, however, I don't remember any of the details outlining bosses, or skills and abilities. Part of my enjoyment is learning the process and I guess bossing is one aspect that I really need help on (I'm rambling on here lol). I'm personally not a bosser but I did hear that getting triple throw can be achieved by defeating Zakum through a party and one where I pay for the drop provided that it does. Could someone take me through a bit of what is ideal in preparing for the later stages of the game? More specifically, when to obtain triple throw, or when to start joining parties for the triple throw book at Zakum (remind me, do I need to do the Zakum prequests to join a party in the first place?). Also, is playing as a nightlord ridiculous per say if one weren't to have the triple throw? I'd like to believe that if it's too difficult for some, that they would still continue playing instead of bailing from being despondent. After flicking through a number of posts on the forum, I now know that the average runs required for TT10 is 8 and over. Has this been a struggle for many or have the majority managed to eventually grab themselves the skillbook? Again, I think i'm rambling too much here but it's mostly because I don't remember a lot of what I experienced back in the day. I'm hoping someone could give me some pointers in moving forward, cheers everyone . P.S. my current level is 52 and yes, am an Assassin.
For general goals in being a Night Lord, you can refer to Sila's guide on the class, I find it really helpful in terms guiding the progression of my character. I broke down your post into something more bite-sized as I find it a little too wordy, and easier for you to navigate around. When to get Triple Throw 10 (TT10) Is recommended to max TT first because it is your main attacking skill at 4th job, but I do know of a player who only managed to fully max the skill at level 17x+, due to the priceyness of TT30 skill book. As TT10 is not 100% drop, is recommended for players to get it as soon as possible once they have enough HP to survive Zakum. There have been cases where it took some players more than 15 to 20 + runs to get it. I was lucky to get it on my 3rd run. Due to its low drop rate, players will usually try to get them when their level 90 to 12x. How to get Triple Throw 10 Before buying the skill books, there are several prerequisites. 1. Have at least 3,200 HP (Recommended amount and types of potions you should bring) 2. Complete all 3 stages of the Zakum Prequests (Guide to Prequests) Tutorials to complete the jump quest, do note they can be very tedious! (Video 1, Video 2) For some, the jump quests can be too difficult so here is a link to an alternative, do note the alternate quest is very time consuming. (Guide to Alternative)3. Learn how to GFX, GFX is the act of changing your picture quality to reduce the chance of you being disconnected during a boss fight. Spoiler: How to GFX Throughout the fight, party members will might tell you to GFX. When they do, go to your game option and adjust your picture quality. Shortcut: esc>down>down>enter>left/right arrow>enter 4. Look for players selling Zakum skillbook servives, players regularly advertise it like this below, it usually cost about 20m per book. You only need to pay them after have you successfully loot it. So even if nothing drops, you do not need to pay them at all. 5. Always listen to the organiser's instruction and turn off your pet's item and meso pouch. Tips for moving forward - Since you are level 52, I recommend training at Voodoos at Sopillia's bedroom or Coolie Zombies at El: Nath: Dead Trees, they both drop highly sought after items (Heartstoppers/Zombie's Lost Tooth), which great to build up your funds early in the game. I recommend saving Dead Trees in your Regular Teleport Rock to save travel time when you NPC your items in town and watch out for any godly items too. - You do not need to worried about bossing, until you reach mid 80s when you can try to hunt Headless Horseman or 12x on Papulatus, I recommend bring a partner along as Papulatus is not an easy boss to defeat - Joining a friendly guild. - You can use this as a reference on what equipment to aim for.
Wow I didn't expect such an in-depth response so much thanks . I'll definitely be sure to have a look at the links you provided. You pretty much answered all my questions so I now have some clarity in moving forward. Hopefully getting TT10 will be manageable when I reach mid 80s or 90s down the road.
