Nightlord nerf

    The NL class in Royals broke the game and is by far the strongest of the attacking classes.
    The class is so powerful that people rarely bring other classes as attackers and they make corsair and having multiple warriors kinda irrelevant. Not only that but they are extremely easy to play as well with huge avoidability, best mobility in the game, 15 minutes apples/gelts etc.

    Their only weaknesses are their low HP, weak mobbing skills and reliance on SE.
    The weak mobbing skills and reliance on SE are not that much of a problem, not many people grind in royals and you can just boss all the way from 135 to 200 (and NLs aren't actually that bad at grinding, the mobility still helps them a lot). As for the SE you have this buff in pretty much every boss run and a lot of people already made SE mules. About the HP it can be nullified by washing and with the planned increase to HP I think you can balance it by nerfing this class a bit.

    Some ideas I have:
    Reducing Critical Throw's critical chance from 50% to 40% to match archers and give the class a slight damage reduction. It doesn't make sense from a role play perspective for NLs to have higher crit than archers too since the archer class is all about criticals.
    Reducing Shadow Shifter's chance from 30% to 15% to make the class a bit more challenging (instead of afking and holding 1 button) without huge avoid. Even without shadow shifter at all they already have 700 avoid or more at high levels which is a huge advantage. I heard NLs say they only use about 200 potions in HT which is crazy and makes the boss easy and boring.
    Reducing Alchemist's potions duration bonus from 150% to 130% (the first 10 levels will increase it 2% each time and the last 10 levels will increase it 1% each time).
    This skill is unfair to other classes who have to buy more attack potions and spend more money than Nightlords, while the Nightlords still gain more EXP cause of higher damage.

    NL is trash tier when it comes to solo grinding. I think every single job with equal funding can out grind NL in end game grinding map like Oblivion 4.

    Made my first ever NL since GMS beta. Washed and geared. I still prefer to play warrior class because I have ZERO motivation to do anything out side of bossing since it's a hassle to drag SE everywhere.

    I think NL itself is fine. Being the best at single target DPS but trash tier at everything else. I think the root cause is lack of community on anything but bossing in mapleroyals. All the other social communities like PQ or grinding are practically non-existent relative to the bossing community. As we all know the grinding and PQ community is relatively balanced or larger compared to bossing community in pre BB GMS.

    Since NL is best at bossing so with that colored glasses on NL seems too OP.

    TLDR: I think the NL is OP due to the MapleRoyals game play meta, not NL itself.

    I remember Vatsug used to grind in OB4 a lot before he was 200 and it was actually quite fast. He had this skill called Taunt (I think it's bugged now?) that gave him +40% exp or so when he used it and he leveled to 200 really quickly from all that grind. He himself said that NL is much better than BM/Marksman etc in grinding due to mobility, taunt and high single target damage.
    At that time you could just put the SE and HS mules in FM and there was the button so it wasn't a problem either. Now you can't do that but almost nobody grinds anymore anyway

    The magician is the strongest grinding class by far ,so we should nerf magician?

    Almost every private server has this issue with NL's as time goes on. The more perfected equipment gets, the more NL stands out as the best. Instead of nerfing a class and negatively affect a lot of people who play that class, why not buff the classes that are just behind them, and that way we gain a net positive with the players?

    That's a problem , but still can gain same mesos (even more without leeching) from ULU 1 2,ML5 .

    NL is in the current meta, but imo, they are not OP, there are drawbacks to this class as well,

    One of the current major, drawback is their HP washing requirement is above the roof.

    Their gear requirement and Inability of grinding is painfully bad too.

    But the biggest downfall of them all, is they arn't that strong without an SE,
    Watching several NL running out of stars in Horntail when the SE dcs just makes them literally a really geared haste mule.

    But of course. When they get everything right in play, they truely become the most craziest class of them all.

    My opinion would be to continue buffing other classes to make them more exciting as opposed to nerfing any other one. Personally, I’ll never have crazy damage range or godly stuff so I only enjoy NL because you have amazing mobility.

    Another likely unpopular but potentially viable solution may be limiting the number of ranged attackers that can be in a single boss run. Possibly create some way for Adonis/NPCs to require an even number of warriors/mages as ranged attackers before allowing the team into the map. They’d find a way around this, too (everyone brings a warrior mule and then those mules DC/leave party) but it may help in some way. I don’t know how that would even happen but I know my old Tom Clancy GRAW groups in MLS had to have balanced teams so that you couldn’t even compete if you all tried to pick the heaviest hitter.

    I personally don’t generally participate in boss runs as a bishop unless the party has some diverse classes in it. I couldn’t care less about hittin 200 so the journey is more fun than the destination in my view. I foresee a future where we eventually get Pink Bean and then HB finally begins to be utilized the way it was supposed to be. I partially blame NX for this, because I remember DKs being incredibly fun from 7x-12x but then Dark Knight being an enormous letdown from a gameplay/fun standpoint.

    NL is like a Ferrari car and you are basically saying nerf Ferrari, which is understandable I mean Ferrari is fking op. But all these people already made giant investments on their Ferraris so they will not be so happy with nerf.

    In short, we can't nerf Ferrari. But, I think doing something to help melee cars jobs would be good. Currently HT meta is 4 ranged and 1 melee or 5 ranged 0 melee, which kinda sucks for all melee jobs out there. I think somehow changing the mechanics of the fight to make melee parties more viable would be a good change.

    Sidenote:
    In a game like Royals, preserving players' current accomplishments is like the #1 constraint when making balance changes. There will always be a push and pull match between wanting to add or change something, and wanting to preserve the game how it is.

    So, a delicate balance must be struck between the two.

    I'm sure most people understand this concept but I just wanted to say it explicitly because there've been so many feedback threads lately about balance and content, and lots of strong opinions and heated discussions.

    Yes, lets nerf NLs, who cares about the ppl that already paid billions for claws or wasted billions scrolling.And about hp, we could also ask admins to just edit the db and give everyone 30k hp, because unwashed and new players will also complain and demand more free hp boosts if pB is released. Who cares if others spent billions to achieve that

    man from some of these responses you'd think @Ayane proposed dumpstering NLs into the ground instead of bringing them from an #1 by a wide margin to #1 by a slightly less wide margin in terms of single target DPS.
