I'm currently in the dilemma of choosing between this two class: 1. Nightlord 2. Corsair The common equips am currently aiming to achieve are: - wa 7 pgc -wa 7 FS -wa 15 SCG - 7 dex rat mouth I don't mind Hp washing, i can wash with 80 int with no base int from EQs i currently having. I'm curious which class would stand up more with the Eqs i currently have. If its a NL, I'm aiming for a wa75+ claw; if Corsair, a wa100+ Concerto. I will slowly improve my EQs from there onwards. I don't mind challenges because this 2 classes seems pretty fun to me. So, which class should i pick to main and why? And which EQ should i improve next with the chosen class?
Tbh, it's honestly up to you. For NLs you gotta wash heavily but for Cosairs you don't. And I'm thinking that the EQs for Corsairs should be much more cheaper than NLs. Personally I like NL's Mobility. Although Corsair has similar mobility ability, NL's is definitely by far superior. As for the party buffs, SE does great for NLs, for Corsair not too much but it still helps. SI is much more better on the corsair rather than NLs too.
Night Lords are very dependent on Sharp Eyes to maintain one of the best DPS in game. Without Sharp Eyes, they'll do as much as Paladins or something and drop below the average DPS with equal funding as opposed to top 2 of DPS. Corsairs aren't really dependent on anyone. Speed Infusion is nice, but they don't need it to maintain top tier damage. Only problem with Corsairs is that the battleship is extremely fragile at early levels. This gets remedied a bit once you reach 18x-19x, but starting off, it's going to be tough.
Well first off, you don't need to hp wash at all. Does it help? Yes. But it is not a necessity. For corsairs, hp washing heavily can negatively affect them because of how the battleship works. If you get 1/1'd by bosses like zakum and horntail. The higher your hp, the more damage your boat will take. Nightlords are incredibly dependent on sharp eyes. Corsairs are not dependent on any buffs. Of course si/se do help corsairs, but they can still do top tier damage without these buffs. The unique thing about corsairs is that there's a level of difficulty in which no other class has. This comes from dismounting. The better you are at dismounting, the more dps you will do. If I can recall correctly from previous threads, Corsairs on average do better damage at Krexel and Zakum. Nightlords do better damage at Horntail. Of course at both Horntail and Zakum both classes are close to equal DPS wise. Corsairs are far better than any class at krexel though, due to krexel not attacking which means that no dismounting is required. But at the end of the day, you should pick the class which you believe you would enjoy the most. If you want to be able to not pay 100% attention during boss runs, go NL. If you are very focused and want to challenge yourself, go corsair.
Night Lords also have a 50% time duration for attack potions like Onyx Apples which was a big selling point for me.
In my opinion Night Lords have a much fuller skill kit (Haste, dark sight, meso up, alchemist, flash jump, shadow shifter) which are all very useful that sairs do not have (yes they have recoil shot+wings... but mehhh). Also not having to mess around with ships and stuff makes NLs easier to play. Just make yourself a SE mule when you make your NL and its gg ez game over.
Corsairs are a challenge. You need to learn to de-buff battleship all the time according to the boss animations and it can get tedious, especially if you're not willing to put the required amount of attention to it. And also you'll have to think of the future - at some point, I believe in another year or something about that (just my guess, nothing official) we'll get Pink Bean. I doubt Corsairs will fight it. They're defiantly not the class for it. But washed Night Lords are. Even though a year is enough time to get both characters to 200, I'd make a Night lord first. Hopefully this helps
Really happy to receive advises from so many experieced players ! Thanks @Cyndy @Plenty @ImCanadian @Lomo @Gags ! I understand how this 2 classes work now. Just curious about one thing, if I'm going to invest all in into that class (let's say with the common EQs i mentioned above), which class will benefit more and stand up higher?
