Nintos in the Ninja Castle are strong vs the other forms of magic but immune to holy. I think this serves absolutely nothing but to make them a hassle for Priests. Priests already have the lowest damage of any mage class. If the concern is that they will sell leech there, you can rest assured even the strongest of priests that can 1-hit Skeles would 3-hit Nintos if they were strong against holy. According to my calculations, a Priest that can just start to 100% 1-hit Skeles would deal 27k~33k damage at Nintos. Less developed priests would always 4-hit. As it stands, I/L and F/P mages with the same equipment as a priest will be able to 2-hit them, as their damage would be closer to 43k~54k on monsters that resist their element. This presents a problem in and of itself, given that there is no popular leech between Ulu 2 and Petrifighters. 2-hit Nintos could potentially present an issue for Arch Mages. If the goal of the staff was to prevent leeching from Bishops, then they have made it immune to an element that is not problematic. It just makes them annoying to deal with. I suggest making them strong vs Holy like with the other elements.
I mean some monsters are just going to be good against holy. My fire mage can barely hurt red oblivion monks and underwater animals which are the only monsters I want to fight so now I have to make an ice mage. This may just be another map to give reason to make AMs over bishops.
They are also immune to ice and fire (or atleast should be). This was done so that we could buff the spawn to make it a viable option for mainly ranged classes as a leveling spot for around lv100 players, without the map being abused for leeching. Priests and warriors still have himes to level at, and i doubt nintos would outshine himes as a leveling spot for priests if they were only strong to holy magic, because they would still be slot harder to kill than himes.
"i doubt nintos would outshine himes as a leveling spot" himes 11k exp with (hs) for 68k hp.- http://bbb.hidden-street.net/monster/dreamy-ghost ninto 16k exp with (hs) 71k hp. - http://bbb.hidden-street.net/monster/ninto ninto outshine himes in every aspect! as much exp as Skele with 9k less hp.. (and lower level mob).. map layout might create new meta for "warriors leech". Rush the lower and upper parts will be easy gather up 15 monsters then AOE them. imo ninto resist to magic (holy, fire ice etc..) should not be 99.99% more like 50%-60%
99% resistance might be overkill, but it's not something new. Many monsters are immune to poison, or highly resistant to other forms of magic. I believe the idea was to give some variation to the elemental strengths and weaknesses. Also, I highly doubt "warrior leech" will become a thing, no matter how flat the map is, rushing a group of mobs and then killing will take too long, all this does is discourage mage leech. Also don't get me wrong, any elemental resistance is a pain for me too (pally!), but ya know, can't be good everywhere. IMO at least.
Martin's post curiously leaves out the lightning element, which doesn't help mages (Chain Lightning OP!) but it does help Paladins if they are not immune to that element as well. Just figured I'd point it out!
The maps are not meant for any type of mages though, and I am asking for them to be strong vs holy, instead of immune to it. Immunity means they are a real hassle for any priest Oh, I see. Someone on the staff told me they were not immune to ice or fire, but only resistant to it.
Even though himes have less exp, they are still 3 times easier to kill than holy strong nintos would be, considering himes are weak to holy. Mages already have good alternatives and therefore we wish to keep nintos as an attacker exclusive map, mainly for ranged characters as nintos require a relatively high accuracy to be hit. The purpose of ninja castle isn't to be better than everything else anyway. We purposefully made it stronger than the alternatives in some aspects, and weaker in some, to make it a useful area without making every other map obsolete. Alot of this focus is shifted towards castellan toad as well, as its currently the highest level boss in the game.
ninto info (classic) Weak against (Magic): Holy Normal against (Magic): Ice, Dark Strong against (Magic): Fire, Lightning Immune to (Magic): Poison, Heal i get that for balance and stuff they want to nerf the mage damage so there wont leech there.. but what they did was that no mage can even farm there! instead the current change "Immune to (Magic): Heal, Poison, Ice, Dark, Fire, Lightning, Holy " they should be : Weak against (Magic): - Normal against (Magic): - Strong against (Magic): Poison, Ice, Dark, Fire, Lightning, Holy Immune to (Magic): Heal "we wish to keep nintos as an attacker exclusive map" after all i don't see attacker hit 1 to himes let mages also farm there just like anyone else can farm in himes.
Sure its physically possible for every class to level at himes, but its not a viable option. Mages have a huge spike at lv120 and are able to utilize mainly skeles and petris/other ulu maps greatly to receive lots of exp. Attackers on the other hand usually end up on the rope at these levels getting leech from a mage because of the lack of alternatives for those levels. Theres no real purpose to let mages use nintos when they already have viable options to level at. Its because of this we wanted to just completely shut out mages from this map so that we were free to make it a good leveling location for ~lv100 ranged attackers without having to worry about leeching.
brahh.. i got it. and since its feedback and not /discussion or /pol i wont go into more depth for what i'm about to say socialism is just plain awful and stupid!. thanks for your time to clear things up.
Y'all gonna complain about class balance then complain when they make a map that attempts to even out how the different classes train lmao. I think the Ninto map is pretty awesome, well done staff
