I’ve been contacted & approached by someone from Nexon and since then, I no longer stream MapleRoyals on Twitch. This is also one of the reasons I rarely stream & haven’t been streaming for so long. This, I believe, is quite sad although expected, for both streamers & the game itself - MapleRoyals.
would you mind posting a picture of the DMCA or whatever. my friend got hit by a DMCA that wasnt from nexon
I think that my encounter was a little different. While I was streaming Royals, someone just posted a message on the stream chat giving me a warning & telling me to stop streaming Maple Story private servers, otherwise he will have to do the necessary actions to get me banned on Twitch (iirc, someone from Nexon). Hence, I stop. I wasn’t banned. I could still stream now if I want to. However, I believe I might be caught again and subsequently banned from Twitch. Therefore, I won’t be streaming on Twitch
*RIP* I tested it out last night, you can still stream, just need to label yourself under "Just Chatting" with no maple related tags. I just streamed for around 4 hours and it was fine.
from a quick google they are not related to nexon at all. they seem to be copyright claiming everyone as my friend also got hit by the same dude
Well there goes my plan to stream this game. Still thinking on creating a twitch account only for that...
I would suggest that anyone wanting to continue streaming tries to do so in the MapleRoyals game category rather than the MapleStory category, as there's some chance that they only check for livestreams in the MapleStory category. Of course I cannot guarantee that this will help avoid the issue, however I feel it could be worth trying. Streaming in the MapleRoyals category will still show your stream on the MapleRoyals homepage.
