Moderate No reward from "Halloween Challenge" jq when you hit esc while talking to Malady at the end

I finished the JQ around 01:15 server time on ch 9

But when I talked to Malady to receive my reward, I hit esc instead and was warped back to town with no reward given.

No error messages or anything
