So this server seems to love to throw around the word nostalgia everywhere, I mean it's a defense and justification for everything and if you mess with nostalgia, you're in deep stool. Don't believe me? Scroll up and there you go! It's right there, lurking waiting to pounce. Let's break it down. Nostalgia as a word is most commonly associated with happy memories from the past; a sense of longing for what we have stored in our mind as simple joy or further, a connection with certain things that create a relaxed feeling of familiarity as they connect with your long term memories. These memories are not full memories, they are generally small memories which center around sense and more so, emotion; when you play a nostalgic version of MS, going to the old henesys, or doing your 3rd job quest, or exploring sleepywood, you are engrained with a feeling of mild dissociation. Nostalgia refers also to associations with past feelings of lugubriousness and anguish, and to truly understand the feeling of nostalgia, you will feel lugubrious (gloomy), because nostalgia is a connection with a past memory which creates a chemical reaction in your mind creating this gloominess which is due to a distant longing of your mind to return to these experiences. Why? Because long term memories tend to be simple and reality can never simple because what we experience is full, our memories can't come close to replicating our sense, but it better replicates our emotions. So it is truly an infinite cycle where people long for this simplicity but can never get it. I will quote due to lack of better words but I won't explain it because I think it'll get your mind rolling, if need be, I will explain but there's always google . So let me conclude saying this; aiming to experience nostalgia by playing Royals is nice, but we can all now accept that the reality of what we do now playing maplestory, is never going to be as good as it was in our memories; why? Simplicity. Simplicity comes from associated emotions being invoked from your memory in a much greater proportion than associated senses; this is nostalgia. So now I hope people can truly understand what Nostalgia is and what to expect when seeking for it (by coming to MapleRoyals for example). Don't expect to experience what you remember. For you younger folks, you'll get this one day.
bro... but... the nostalgia. nostalgia. nostalgia. so much nostalgia.nostalgia.nostalgia. nostalgia. too much. Spoiler I've already given up with nostalgia, It will never be achieved. Like you said above. Mapleroyals doesn't come close. Also everyone has different versions of "nostalgia"
