I will need feedback from the community, and will construct the rules and regulations 100% based on the feedback polling. If there is a tie in the poll, I reserved the right to cast tie breaker vote. Rules: Spoiler: Rules Draft Must apply here or you will not be able to participate. Optional 1 WS/CS entry fee. It is completely optional, but if you win the tournament without paying the entry fee, you do not get any prize and the prize automatically goes to the runner up who actually paid the entry fee. I'll be collecting the entry fee. No refund unless the tournament was cancelled or you backed out before the tournament starts. The game will be best 2 out of 3. It's players' responsibility to meet up and play the other player. If a person doesn't respond within 48 hours in the game or on the forum, that player automatically forfeit, and the other person advanced to the next tier. If the two players cannot find a time to meet up, I'll arrange a different match up or extend the 48 hours time limit. After all the names filled the bracket, the person with lower omok score will be the host. Please be honest and use your main character with the highest omok score. The host will open the game, and will be able to make the first move. The subsequent match up host will be the most recent person who lost a match.
I voted single elimination but if the prize pool is split I feel it should be double elimination. Also how do you plan to seed the bracket?
What's the take on glitch abuse during the tournament? https://royals.ms/forum/threads/double-3s-bug-this-time-its-an-actual-bug.108768/ Personally I would like to not allow this.
I don’t think it’s a glitch. I consider it an effective use of strategy. If you can maneuver around your opponent creating an opening in their tactics it should be exploited. It’s just another part of the game, and occasionally another tool in my bag of tricks.
Personally I think an experienced MapleRoyals Omok player should understand and should play with that "glitch/bug" in mind and place pieces accordingly. IMO, if you can get a "win" show up on the board you win the game.
